The case *was* dropped. Any type of settlement out of court leads to the case being dropped. TNN may have paid Spike something, or Spike may have simply signed off saying that he would no longer persue the suit. Either way, the contract likely prevents either party from publicly stating the terms of the settlement.

Well, as best as I can figure out, it looks like Shelton and his wife were in talks with Viacom for some MTV work. When Spike started the suit, Viacom stopped the contract discussions. After Viacom hinted they would resume contract discussions, Shelton "settled". So basically, it sounds like he settled to get work from Viacom.
