'Family Guy' and 'Futurama' coming to TBS

I won't get too excited, both shows are likely to have banners and bugs covering the screen just like the rest of TBS shows, but I know some would be interested and watch anyway.
TBS Picks Up 'Futurama' and 'The Family Guy'
Beginning Monday TBS will air episodes of "Futurama" and "The Family Guy" during a "special run" of the cult-favorite programs.
"Futurama and "The Family Guy" have proven to be stellar hits among adults 18 to 34 for the late-night Cartoon Network Adult Swim crowd, and we are confident they will prove to be equally popular during the afternoons on TBS Superstation," said Steve Koonin, executive VP and chief operating officer of TBS.
The episodes will air weekdays at 2 and 2:30 p.m.(ET).

I'm not sure I get this logic? So if they want to target the adults why go for such a early time slot. These shows have already proven that they are not exactly the best things for kids. A lot of jokes and references are very unfriendly for kids. So I see no logic in trying to target it to kids

Ya know, I watch NYPD Blue on TNT (same ownership as TBS, for those that don't know), and I see the hatchet job they do on those eps... makes me realize that it won't be worth my time to watch Family Guy because it'll probably get all the good innuendo censored as well.
I predict that it'll get decent ratings for a short time, and then as people realize that it's censored, the ratings will drop, and Turner execs will be left stupidly scratching their heads, wondering why it didn't bring in the ratings.

Crap, that's 9 AM PST. I'll miss it.
TBS isn't too bad when it comes to re-airing sitcoms, but it is an odd choice. Wouldn't two hours of "Roseanne" and "Drew Carrey" follow these shows? Yeah, they really go together.

They do the same thing for L&O. Not censoring but they do cut snippets out and they rearrange where the commercials go - very annoying.

Yeah, I noticed that on a lot of shows... I don't understand why they feel that they have to fark up the pacing of a story by throwing commericals in places they weren't intended.

I watch a lot of L&O on TNT and the original cuts generally did not have a commercial break after around the :41 or :42 mark into the hour. The show itself would end at around :56. By repositioning the commercial breaks (they always put one around :48-:52), TNT ensures that the show finishes right at the end of the hour. I assume they do this so that people would be more likely to stay with TNT for the next program instead of channel surfing at :56 or :57.
