Just Saw The OC Pilot

It was cool. I will watch it every week when it debuts, which means FOX will cancel it after the first season probably. I can see it lasting for a few seasons atleast if they don't though. The actors are good in the roles and the storylines are interesting. It was the best pilot I've seen so far for the upcoming shows.

Does it have a lot of slow-mo action scenes?

"I think I can get into less trouble where I am from..."

"You have no idea..."

Ugggh. I am bored with teen shows. Shows about cool people. And especially shows about cool teen people.

This looks awful .

Looks pretty bad. Having grown up in OC, I wouldn't exactly call it paradise. It's nice and all, but come on.

I've never been to Orange County. Do people actually call it "The OC"?

No one calls it The OC. Maybe just OC - as in I'm heading up from SD to OC... (wow...look at that, forgot I even had OC in my location field)

The only reason I'll watch it is because I live in OC. If it sucks...oh well...what's up with OC any ways? We just had a movie about us that was nothing special.

No one even says OC. They say the name of the city they live in. You say Anaheim or Newport Beach or Irvine.

Actually everyone I've encountered would say they were from OC, and only upon further interrogation would they actually give you the name of the city they were from.

The reason I say I'm from OC is because I'm from the city of Orange, so if I say I'm from Orange, they'll say "where?" and I have to explain I'm from the city of orange in orange county and it's just easier to say OC and if they really care, they'll ask which city.

It's the exact same thing with ppl from the LA area, they just say they're from LA, and only after badgering them for the exact city will they tell you. Most people don't know where places like Temple City or La Canada are so they just say, "I'm from LA".

I think the OC people stole it from the LA folks...

I'm from the Bay Area btw...

Back on topic, the show doesn't look all that interesting really.

The OC? Hilarious.

I dunno, the movie Orange County had nothing to do with Orange County (go figure) and I'm sure this will tank as well.

It is funny to see Orange County getting all this attention lately, but if this show is done well, it could be great to watch for all us OC people. Let's be serious, this place is rich, conservative as hell and only concerned with themselves and their cars. It's like a mini-Beverly Hills in some areas (see: "Newport Bitch")

I saw an ad for this abortion recently.

In one of the snippets a blond dude has a guy down in the sand and is kicking him while exclaiming, "This is how we do it in Orange County!"

That's how I do it. Those of you out there from OC must feel the same. I mean, what's a day without there being some kicked ass in it?

Down the sidewalk I go: "Move aside sir, if you don't want to lie in my ass-kicked wake. I say, move aside!" After they've felt the thump of my Merrells, I say, "That's how we do it in Orange County. Now get off my sandy white beach before I punch you so hard you'll need a time machine to find your teeth."

Isn't it sweet that there is now a fitting medium to reflect our county's values and lust for life?

Oh, blessed Fox!!!

It seems you've never been to Florida.

I always thought it was "Daily Pilot," a local newspaper with no circulation to speak of. It used to be one of two major "local" newspaper choices.

Although nobody really says "OC," it would still be better than "LA," since nobody is actually from Los Angeles proper (if it even exists).

And "Bay Area"?? What the hell is that? I mean, really.

Doesn't really matter much. Only 10% of folks who live in "OC" speak English, and God only knows what the rest call the place.

NO!!! But if their from LA or are some kind of inland tool they might. We also say OC when we're being ironic and trying to make funny of the people who would say it.

I saw the promo and I crapped my pants! I can't wait to see this. It appears to be filmed entirely on sets and in Malibu (you gotta love that realism). This could be a lot of fun to rip on.

And, as slop said, we spend most of our time kicking the ass of people who don't belong, that is when we aren't waxing our cars or practicing being better than everyone (which believe me is exhausting).

Blaster1- Newport Beach gets mentioned in the promo, is that where it takes place?

I have to move out of Newport even faster now.

Even if the show doesn't mention NB, it is where it will take place. When you speak of the snooty conservative OC, you really mean Newport. 90% of the county is nothing like that. Also, McG is from Newport.
