David Letterman to start taking short weeks?

Sounds like, from what Dave said on the show last night, that he is going to start taking Friday's off as well, with a guest host filling in. Anyone know the details?

hasn't he been taking fridays off for years? I've stopped watching a while ago but he was on a 4 day week for a long time IIRC...

Don't know the details, but he kept saying he was taking the day off. I hope it doesn't turn into a Carson-like situation by having it be weekly.

The crickets sure were loud when Dave announced Tom Arnold would be the guest-host.

At the rate things are going, Carson is going to out-live Letterman.

yeah, it's been a four day week, but he's taped 5 shows a week (twice on Thursday) since the move to CBS. From what it sounded like, it'll be back to 4 Dave shows and 1 guest host a week.

I have no problem w/ him regularly using guest hosts. Now bring back Vince Vaughn, Elvis Costello and Bonnie Hunt, Letterman!

Conan hasn't had a new show on a Monday in forever either....he's only worked 4 days a week for the last few years too.

Never mind. It was so bad I already stopped watching. Guess this just isn't Tom's format. Good to find out this way.
