Kind of a boring episode.

The sledding bit was useless. Nobody was scared to do it and it didn't take any time to do.

I can't believe Cindy would ever agree to on this kind of trip with Russel. What does she see in that guy? He's a total ass. Good thing that she decided to stand up for herself finally.

I can't believe that guy blew the roadblock 3 times. And the NFL wife was one of the first ones in there and last ones out. Seems like they are taking the 'just follow them' approach just like the fireman/cop team from last year did. Though I do like it that they are trying to play the teams against each other.

I hope they get out of central Europe next episode. Too much Italy.

I thought the sledding part was so cool. It was funny that Kelly and John had to slide down the hill in order to meet the van. It looked so fun but I agree with CharlesC. It was pretty useless.

IMO, Russell and Cindy don't even seem like close friends. At the end of the road block, what does Russell do? Just pump his fists, no hugs or hi fives or anything.

The funny thing about the door incident is that it didn't even give him an advantage because they all ended up taking the bus. Although Reichen's face was funny because you could see the slow realization that his advantage was slipping away when they all started boarding the bus.

And what's with the air traffic controllers? They keep missing each other with the hi 5's. Its funny though.

Kind of makes you wonder about them telling all those planes where to go.

It seems to me that they miss their high-fives intentionally.

Those guys are pretty funny. Reminds me a lot of guys I've worked with in the past.

What was with the one guy yelling, "Gravity! Gravity!" on the raft?

The air traffic controllers are gonna be feeling it next week... they had to burn that fast forward though. And that was the easiest fast forward ever!

Team NFL won't last either.

The "married" guys, or Team Himbo, provided good entertainment. But they've burned bridges.

I liked the development in this episode, but those were some of the easiest "challenges", in one episode, ever.

LB: I didn't like seeing them go since I run a "AR" pickem game with a couple of friends of mine and they were one of my four teams I was thinking of switch with Amanda but I forgot this was a roadblock and you arn't allow. I was like yelling at the screen saying your mask is right there when CBS showed him standing right next to the guy wearing it. I wonder how much time elapse between that scene and when he eventually found it-could have been the difference in finishing behind of Monica/Sheree as one of the NFL Wives found their mask during that time lapse.

Monica or Sheree ( again wearing the same clothes, as were chip and reichen ) were lucky to get 2nd last.

LB: Why the rolleyes? The same clothes were only jackets and they probably can wear only two sets of jacket-wear on this trip. (I wouldn't be surprise if they only have three-four sets of clothing. I'm told they are allowed to clean their clothing during the 12hr layovers. And also its advantage to have less clothing in your backpacks.)

Team Weezer and Geezer were annoying me, I was rooting for chip and reichen holding the door, there are no rules in this folks as was displayed in the 1st episode.

LB: I don't see why Chip and Dip should be pissed off. Team Weezer/Geezer mentioned last night that Chip/Dip were behind the NFL Wives at the airport so they wouldn't have got on that plane anyway. (Heck, I didn't even see them there during that whole situation.) If anyone has the right to be upset, it would have been the NFL Wives which they were, but since Weezer/Geezer help them with the bus tickets-they said that even things out.

LaxBandit...

yep and then they try to go for the low five on the back side, but it does appear that they are coming up with air when they try to connect down there.

Anyone else notice how one of the Team Coronary guys was winded in the very first cab they took on the way to the sled? I mean, he was winded putting his luggage in the cab, after a rest stop, before they did squat. That had me laughing.

The bunching up is annoying sometimes, but there are so may factors that can delay teams, getting lost, getting, sick, slow transport, fighting. The rush to get somewhere first is always important because you dont know whats coming and you place is never sure. While the event/transportation terminal may start at some set time, you never know if being on the last plane/bus/cab plus all those unforseen factors makes you show up later than everyone else.

The bunching up bothers me at times, but at the same time if it didn't happen then the game might become too lopsided.

And sometimes where you think they are bunched up they are NOT. Like the contest with getting in line at the mascarade party.
Some went sight-seeing thinking "we'll all get in at 5pm" when they only let a couple in at a time.

I don't like the bunching up either. It's bothered me in every season as it just seems really unfair. I can see a 'bunch up' type obstacle at the START of a leg of a race, but its just totally bogus to put it right at the end. It makes the rest of that leg completely meaningless and puts too much emphasis on the outcome of a single event. Like last nights, it wasn't like there was any opportunity for a team to pass another after leaving the masquerade challenge as the finish line was way too close.

Hmmm, I just had an idea.

They should do intra-leg prizes. That way even if the teams are going to get bunched up they still get rewarded for being the first to a task or checkpoint.

Doing some catchup here...

I don't see what the problem is with NFL wives participating in the Amazing Race. In the early show interview, the host stated that the producers prefer that the participants who haven't traveled around the world rather than the well-traveled participants.

I wonder if Reichen & Chip are as big of jerks as they are edited to be ... probably. It is like they are taking it personally that the other teams are not rooting for them (but they aren't acting maliciously towards them, either). The holding-the-door bit was incredibly stupid and childish ... it is not like there were only 2 tickets on that train to Venice. Everyone would have been on equal footing, regardless of position.
I was watching this with a gay friend, who says he knows lots of people like this (espically the kind who get "married" as if they have something to prove.) They make an issue out of being gay (like in the first episode where they were saying the two guys they teamed up with might not have wanted to if they knew they were gay.) They often feel like everyone is against them, because of their sexuality (in their lifes, if this is true or not... I don't know.) When in fact, I'm guessing most people in this game really really don't care except for maybe the virgins (since the whole "The bible says..." thing) and I'm sure they wouldn't say or do anything about it.

Funny though, how people ARE against them... and it has nothing to do with their sexuality. They act this way as a well tuned self defense, against things in their lifes that may or may not be real.

I think you guys are reading too much into the gay thing. As far as I can tell, at this point in the race they haven't "come out" to the other teams, so there's nothing to be defensive about. The reason they were acting like jerks was because they were still pissed about what Weezer and Geezer did in the airport in show 1.

Just watched the episode, and agree that it was pretty boring. I can't tell a lot of the couples apart yet, so I don't really care about who gets booted at this stage. The Falcons wives should have been booted just for pure stupidity - to be in there all that time and not even present a picutre to anyone?

Yes, the gay team were the ones that tried to cut in line.

The early episodes of TAR are always a bit confusing, but once you get down to around 6-8 teams, solid favorites and villains emerge. This season is no different. Everyone, just pace yourselves...

Bit of inside info regarding the Masquerade: The editing was severely drawn out, everyone completed that obstacle within 8 minutes. It was seriously a race to the finish line, with everyone reaching it pretty much 30 seconds apart. It was VERY close.

Groucho, I think what he's trying to say is that the personality of someone who doesn't come out in this kind of situation, is often very self concious, and feels others judge. Therefore, they're naturally very defensive of everything.

so "weezer" told you this?!

So we should see that at the beginning of the next episode with the start times being different.

I don't think that Reichen & Chip are being edited as being big jerks. After all, just last week, they were the team that shared their hotel room with Debra & Steve.

As for the train station door thing: Obviously R&C were still pissed off over what Steve & Josh did for Steve & Dave at LAX. (I thought their comeback to Steve & Dave at the train station was terrific. Really shut them up.)

And they were taking it personally, since Monica & Sheree had just told them that the other teams wanted them gone.

Finally, they had no way of knowing at that moment whether they would all be on the same train. (In past races, there have been several times when not all the bunched teams got on the same train or bus.)

Yeah, it might've been a bit childish. (Pissing matches usually are.) But it was a very understandable reaction, and I actually found myself liking them more for it afterwards. (But that's also probably because I'm not caring for snotty little Josh or the whiny ATCs at all.)

That's very interesting - so the NFL Wives Club member doesn't look as slow as she was portrayed. She was probably yelling at the screen when the show aired.
