'Baby Bob' Returns to CBS -- No, Really

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - At CBS' upfront presentation earlier this month, network CEO Les Moonves made a joke about "Baby Bob" coming back.

Or so people thought.

The critically spit up-upon show, which revolves around a couple whose infant child can converse like an adult, is scheduled to return to CBS at 8 p.m. ET Friday, June 6. It's scheduled for an eight-episode run.

Despite the negative reviews, "Baby Bob" performed fairly well in a short run last spring, averaging more that 12.5 million viewers in a cushy timeslot between "The King of Queens" and "Everybody Loves Raymond."

The grown-up cast -- Adam Arkin, Joely Fisher, Elliott Gould, Holland Taylor and Marissa Tait -- returns, as does Ken Campbell as the voice of Bob, who began as a character in a series of ads for an Internet service that no longer is in business.

CBS also has finally given a premiere date to "Charlie Lawrence," which stars Nathan Lane as a former TV star newly elected to Congress. The show, originally slated for midseason, will make its debut at 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday, June 15. Laurie Metcalf ("Roseanne") and Ted McGinley ("Married ... with Children" ) also star.

Never watched it, never will!

Although it's poorly written, Baby Bob is actually pretty funny. I'll be watching.

It was a lot better than it could have been (altough it was pretty dumb), but it's relative success was due totally to being hammocked inbetween KOQ and Raymond.

What was the internet service? Personally, I'd rather watch a show starring the Pets.com sock. Personally, I'd rather watch a show starring ANY damn sock.

I've never watched, but if this thing is at all funny I commend the writers for pulling laughs out of such a idiotic concept. Maybe they should be given a chance on something less stupid. Reagrdless, the idea makes this unwatchable for me, and I liked Herman's Head, for chrissakes.

It was freeinternet.com. The commercials were fairly cute and the talking effect was very well done.

I couldn't find a link to the commercials (they're probably on Kazaa somewhere), but I did find this interesting story.

The first scene in the first episode had Joley's tits practically falling out of her shirt. At that moment I knew CBS had their best show in years...
