Amazing Race-LEG 1 (5/29)
After several months of waiting, The Amazing Race will begin with a 90 minute episode on May 29th. Since this is a reality series, I'd thought I would share a few tidbits of information from running the poll on the last two previous Amazing Races and provide some clarification on the message threads.
Each Amazing Race thread will be dated according to the air date. However, we have a twist in how threads are created. For fun, a poll is created as to which team will arrive last at the pit stop. (Because not all pit stops are elimination points, I use the term "arrive last" instead of eliminated). This poll will be created after the episode airs on KOVR-13 in Sacramento CA. (Because they use "early prime time schedule", the episodes air two hours later than the east coast rather than three.) It is then that I create the following weeks polls. This has caused some confusion as to what to post where, so I provide the following example:
It is Friday, May 30th. You will see threads for "Amazing Race (5/29)" and "Amazing Race (6/5)". So, where do you post? Simple...
"Amazing Race (5/29)" is for the discussion of the events that occurred during the airing of the May 29th episode. (i.e. I can't believe the teams actually pumped unleaded gas into a desal-powered car last night)
"Amazing Race (6/5)" has an open poll where you vote on who you think will arrive last for that episode and speculation. (i.e. I'm voting for Team Clown because of blahblahblah). This thread is usually quiet, and gets "bumped" about one day prior to the episode airing. Once the 6/5 episode airs, the thread is used to discuss the events that took place on that race.
Because of a 10-vote limit, the first two polls will be general polls. Then, the polls will then be on the individual teams... and my fun really starts. If you watch the polls carefully, you will notice that the teams are arranged in the order they come in. You will also note some notations. The notation is:
FF - The team has used a fast-forward
FP - The team has arrived in first place. A number will be beside the FP indicating which leg the team arrived first.
LP - The team has arrived in last place without being eliminated. Once again, a number will indicate which legs the team arrived last.
Remember, the polls are for fun.
On the series premiere of The Amazing Race:
Also, sometime during the Early Show, they will have a preview of the race.

My vote though not having seen any of the previews is for Debra And Steve, Debra looks like she is trouble, what with the fear of heights, and dark waters. Hello it's the amazing race, you are more than likely going to have to jump from either a plane or Bungee in the 1st 4 episodes.

(Minor plug time)
I have more flexibility in the polls there. Not only can you vote for which team will arrive LAST, but also which team will arrive FIRST, and which team will use a fast forward. I have some good prizes lined up. The polls will close tonight at midnight ET.
