In the Great Summer Wasteland: what to watch?

Ok, now that we've finished with just about every network show and the Great Summer Wasteland is beginning, I'm looking for suggestions.

The new schedule for next year doesn't provide much in the way of interesting shows for me and I'm looking to expand a little.

In your opinion, what is the easiest and best show to try out in summer reruns? Although I watch Alias, I don't think it would be easy to just jump into for example. 24, if repeated, would also fall into that category.

Comedy, drama, whatever.

I hope this can bring attention to some easily accessible shows worth watching during the summer for everybody to try.

Hopefully, a different list than the standard "best show on TV thread " And therefore not another "weekly thread" as per das!

I have a lot of stuff on my Replays that I still need to catch up on.

3 CSI: Miamis
1 Dragnet
The Hitler miniseries
The whole season of Punk'd
A few episodes of Fraternity Life, which I will continue watching into the summer.
Several History Channel programs

I know Sex & the City comes back with 6 episodes or so in the summer. I am going to check the new Showtime series, Out of Order which premieres on Sunday June 1. I might check out Amazing Race - I've never watched it but people seem to rave about it. I think there is a new Temptation Island coming out on FOX as well - I definitely have to watch that.

Since I also started watching Charmed and JAG this season, I will continue catching up on old episodes of these series broadcast on TNT and USA. Of course, there are always Law & Order re-runs on TNT and offerings from the History Channel. You can never go wrong there.

Amazing Race is the ONE to watch. I love Big Brother 2. Big Brother 3 was almost as good and BB4 should be on during the summer. I'm looking forward to both of these shows.

Let me second a vote for Amazing Race. IMO, it's the best reality show out there. It really makes for a fun summer. If you've never seen it, I recommend you at least take a look at one or two episodes.

That's probably my favorite reality show on TV right now. It's pure comedy.

That new show on Fox, Keen Eddie I believe, looks like it could be good. Also Monk returns June 20.

The networks don't air many reruns anymore since they get such bad ratings. So, I don't think you'll have much luck catching up with any network show that's not in syndication yet. I'm going to try to catch up with Farscape reruns on Scifi and Dawson's Creek reruns on tbs. I'd like to catch up with Babylon 5, but I don't think the reruns will cycle back to the begining till late summer.

Also, I'm very much looking forward to AR4 and BB4. Nobody's mentioned Mole 3 yet. It's coming on this summer too, right?

Another show I haven't heard much about is X-men Evolution. I thought they had some new episodes they were going to show when X2 came out, but I don't think they've aired any new episodes since last year.

I'll catch some reruns of these:

Ed - only saw the last 3 episodes. How stupid am I?
Charmed - From what little I saw, the girls have gotten hotter this season.
Scrubs - can't get tired of it.
West Wing - missed some episodes from the middle of the season. And since this is apparently AS' last year writing it, gotta catch the ones that got away.

The Wire starts its second season on HBO in June. If it's anything like the first season, it will definitely be a show to watch.

The Amazing Race 4 . I just saw the promo for it and it is AWESOME. Simply, the best (reality) show on tv.

I will also probably watch a bit Big Brother (though it is a bit less interesting) and catch up on some shows in rerun that I missed during the year. I also like the Law and Order real life case show
and hopefully ABC will bring back States Vs. and "The Family"

The Amazing Race 4 (Naturally)-starting May 29th.

And, for the anime fix on Cartoon Network (even if they chop it to bits)

.hack//SIGN on Saturday nights.

Rurouni Kenshin-new (and always butchered) episodes on starting around June 6th.

Kikaider is supposed to start June 4th.

And, hopefully, new episodes of InuYasha.

However, Cartoon Network's schedule is only going up to May 30th, so some changes are planned.

Tech TV has not announced any new acquisitions.

I also have about 20-40 hours to watch on my ReplayTVs, and then I'll try to catch up on Frasier. Plus, I'll probably rewatch Alias in HD (didn't get my new HDTV until late December). Also, I want to watch the early Everwood episodes that I missed. AR4 and BB3 will be on the ReplayTV record list.

I have several episodes I still need to catch up on in my Tivo and Replay TVs of Gilmore Girls, Enterprise, and UPN's Twilight ZOne, plus the last episode of Smallville. I replaced my bedroom Replay TV with a second DirecTivo unit and I put my old ReplayTV in my exercise room. I am going to work out on my elliptical trainer while watching the Gilmore Girls, Enterprise, and TZ which is a good 45 minute workout after I zap out commercials!

On TV this summer, I plan on watching Monk, Sex & the City, Project Greenlight, and Big Brother 2. I am going to watch the beginning of American Juniors to see if it's interesting.

But other than that, I just plan to watch my stacks of DVDs that piled up during the TV season. I was watching way too many shows and not enough movies.

Lucky, The wire, Sex and the city.

Dead Zone also returns with a mini season in the summer as well.
