sure not all loose ends were tidied up but the Buffuniverse is a complex one

How do so many of you get to view these episodes in advance week after week? Do I not get to because I live in the states or something? Or is it my UPN affiliate's decision as to when it airs?

The episodes were availible on Mondays. Im not saying I have, or anybody should have been looking for them, but that is generally when a bird told me they were.

I think the Spike being on Angel thing didn't come from Team Whedon, or either someone leaked it to throw everyone off. Joss told TV Guide the day after the Spike on Angel story came out that he didn't know where that came from , but it didn't come from him. He said that it had not been decided yet. I for one hope he will be on Angel , but can't figure out how in the world they would do it.

Who ever said that Willow's spell would last forever? She, obviously, thinks it will, but the power may very well fade out of everyone except Faith and Buffy as time goes on.
I thought it was a great episode, much more satisfing than the X-Files send off last year.
God, I'm going to miss this show. Buffy is, without a doubt, my all time favorite tv show. I really hope they go with the Faith spin off after her new show gets canned on Fox. It is going up against CSI, so unless it gets moved relatively quickly, it won't stand a chance.

A fitting end to a great show. For the most part, there were only four shows I watched on TV: 1) Buffy, 2) Angel, 2) WWE Raw, and 4) WWE SmackDown. Raw and SD started to suck royal arse, so only Buffy and Angel remained. Now Buffy's gone, and and I don't dig reality tv, so it looks like Angel will be the only show I watch, maybe with some time to view Eliza's show.
In terms of Spike, I doubt WB would have posted him as part of the cast on their website if they didn't have some sort of official confirmation.

Thanks das for summing up a lot of things I've been thinking about the past few days. Buffy is/was and shall always be a special show. My only regret is that it took the end of the series for Team Whedon to put the fun back in the show.
Buffy is still special and so are all the other slayers created with tonight's episode. Whedon's vision of a world where women are not victims came full circle this evening and I look forward to the next chapter in whatever form or medium it may take. Bye bye Buffy. While we've grown to love all these characters, the show isn't Slayer and Friends, it's Buffy, the Vampire Slayer ... at its heart, it has always been about one lonely girl carrying the weight of the world. She has great and powerful friends, but in the end it was always up to her, and she's never been able to truly find any happiness. While it took some leaps in plot and some suspension of disbelief to get there, it's a resolution I can be happy with: Good vs. Evil is the constant ... that Buffy no longer carries this burdon alone is something to celebrate, and I'm very happy for her.
I don't want to overanalyze this finale. It is what it is ... and looking back on the entire series, I find it to be fitting. It's painful to close this chapter of television history, but I'm very thankful I've been able to participate from the initial airing of "Welcome to the Hell Mouth" all the way to today. I watch a lot of television and enjoy most of it, but Buffy is one of those few shows that I genuinely love. It's difficult to "set it free," but it will always be in my heart. It had a great run, and I look forward to a lifetime of reminiscing about how special this show really was. My thanks go out to everyone who played a part in enriching the television landscape with this wonderful show. Its legacy will certainly endure long after tonight's airing.

All in all I'd say that was a good sendoff - leaps and bounds better than the final episode of The X-Files! It was nice to see the humor back in the show and to hear Buffy give Giles some props for once this season.

Overall I thought it was a fitting end, but also had problems with many of the liberties they took with character development during this episode. I was very disappointed they chose to throw in even more speeches that dragged on, and then cut the ONE speech I wanted to hear, Andrew's. Still that could not spoil the fact that I was extremely saddened to be watching the last episode of a series I have loved watching since day 1. I am glad I was able to hop on so early, and ride until the end. The episode was mostly enjoyable, and I'm glad my multiple slayer idea from a previous Buffy thread actually got used, although in a different fashion. And damnit it's an axe. Was kind of shocked at the suddenness of the deaths during the episode. They seemed really unexpected and jarring although I expected there to be deaths. I was surprised how brutally Anya was cut down there.
Does anyone else think Willow was actually pretty hot as a blonde?
Ok I really have to mention though that if Whedon does any other shows to PLEASE keep some consistency regarding either the strength of your heroes or villains. The show went from people being unable to defeat vampires, hence a slayer, to regular people seeming to have only slight trouble defeating tons of ubervamps?

It's sad that this was the last Buffy. I agree that their was no way they could live up to the expectations people had for this so overall I thought it was very good. The scene with Anya dying and Andrew telling Xander that she went down fighting was sad.
I'd love to know how they're going to work Spike into Angel next year.

I loved this episode. It was so great how everything came together: all the potentials gathering in town, all the people fleeing Sunnydale, and even Cassie's prediction to Spike "One day she'll tell you..."
