That sounds like a plan to me though really, is it going to take a week for most of us to tear through all the episodes ?

Anyone else care to check in on third season thread ideas?

It'll be a little slow if it's just me and lisadoris.

I'd like to read and post (nothing coherent, most likely just WTF?!?), and since my copy is coming from Amazon through SlowAsHell MediaMail, a week's buffer for the set to get here would be appreciated.

I really need to stop reading Amazon's item descriptions--they seem determined to spoil most every major plot point for the season.

Boy, you're not a-kiddin'. Amazon pretty much summed up the entire season. As if price alone wasn't enough to keep me from buying from them...

Wow. They really did sort of lay it all out there, didn't they? At least there are two big things they didnt' trash entirely. I mean, if you've already seen the series, you know all of this. If not, you don't want to know it.

They should've just vagued it up with something like (spoilered, though I don't drop anything specific):

Spoiler:
Appropriately titled "Point of No Return," the third season of Babylon 5 begins as the crew goes on a desperate quest to locate the First Ones, hoping they will aid them in the escalating Shadow War. Meanwhile, tensions mount on both Earth and Minbar, and the station finds itself under direct attack from an unexpected enemy. Expect a few new faces, as well as more than a few old faces -- some expected, some not. Also expect one of the big mysteries of the Babylon 5 Universe to be resolved definitively. And two regular characters will be sacrificed as the shocking secret of the Shadows is revealed...

Alrighty, I'll start a Season 3 thread on August 18th (just to keep things on a M-F schedule) with a new episode every weekday and hope a few people join me.

This is off-topic, but everybody here who's at all interested in comics or superheroes should check out JMS's new comic that came out this week. The first issue is a little reminiscent of JMS's first comic, Rising Stars, but this is an ongoing series and has one of the best artists in comics, Gary Frank, working on it. Here's a link to a reviewer that called it the best comic of the week:

Well, I finally got off my butt and ordered mine. It’s coming from Canada, so who knows when I’ll get it. I think up there they make distribs eat snails if they ship before street date.

Picked up the collector's edition, but haven't read it yet. The various retailers wasted no time marking each edition up big time. Anywhere from $5-$8 on the standard edition and $7-$10 on the collector's. Shopped around enough to find the collector's at cover price though.

OK. Lemme see: you’re getting it for next to nothing; you’re getting it tomorrow; and this is supposed to invoke understanding. Uh huh.

Give the GC to a homeless guy, the stinkier the better. Yeah, that’s the ticket! I can see it now. Folks stuck in line for a half hour with a stinky homeless guy. And the guy finally gets up to the checkout and the pimply faced jerk says, “You want the extended warrantee with that?” and Stinky goes ballistic and throttles Pimples within an inch of his/her life and it turns into a hostage situation that gets on the 5 PM news and…and…and…

See how that works? Best Buy is evil. E-vil I tell ya!
