SNL 5/10 - spoilers not in spoiler tags
that cartoon was some funny stuff
skits until that point were hit and miss
opening was poor, brian fellows was decent, the big picture of katan in his apartment was ok but the rest of that skit was nothing great. assuming that was really the host's mom that part of his monologue was funny. mom jeans was ok

The best they could do for an end of season host next week is Dan Ackroyd? Who was it originally supposed to be? I heard that it had to be changed recently...

The cartoon was hilarious. Brian Fellows and the first part of Regis and Kelly were funny.
The Carson Daly joke during update was good.
Other then that it was the usual SNL of this season.

I don't know what to make of this episode. The first part was very funny, even hilarious at some points, then after Weekend Update it went straight to hell. The Lensmasters and the dance class sketches were painful to watch. Then, I fell asleep and missed anything after that. Adrien Brody was okay as host, although that part with his mother in the monologue was a little creepy. And what's with all the accents? Brody as a Rasta introducing the musical act - He seems like a total wannabe.
Dan Aykroyd for the season finale? Why do they insist on bringing him back once a year? Yes, he was one of the originals, but that was a quarter of a century ago! Has he been relevant at all since Ghostbusters? Why do I have the feeling we're going to see John Goodman too, for the 937th time?
Usually at this point I list the sketches and the cast appearances, but since I missed the last 20 minutes or so, I'll just list what I saw.
American Idol - Kattan had Clay Aiken's number in this one, dawg.
Lots of cast members in this skit.
Monologue - Okay, the kissing bit was obvious from jumpstreet, but at least they didn't make that big a deal out of it.
Jeans for Moms commercial - Standard parody.
Brian Fellow - That cat is baldheaded! That's crazy!
Self-obsessed date - Kattan was all over the show tonight. I want to get a big picture of myself for my wall now.
Regis & Kelly - Brody as the hiker who cut off his own arm, and just happened to be a Travel Trivia winner!
TV Funhouse - With Saddam and Osama as Wonder Twin heroes against the pig-eating infidels.
Weekend Update - Yuck. How long was Sanz out there as Elton John, while he and Fallon cracked up over nothing, again? It wasn't even good material. Totally amateurish.
I did like Q*terplx, though.
Lensmaster - This started putting me to sleep.
Dance Class - Okay, now I'm really starting to...zzzzzzzzzzz.
Honk!

Nobody liked the American Idol opening sketch? I thought Katan as Clay was hilarious and Ruben was funny too. Commercial breaks.

I hate Jimmy Fallon with a passion, and cannot wait for him to leave. There is no way that he and Horatio Sanz should be in the same sketch together, since they obviously can't control themselves.

Best part was definitely the cartoon - with Sean Penn credited as writer.
Anyone else think that Brody's mom was a plant and he was going to go kiss her? Would have been too expected I guess.

Horatio Sanz as Elton John was hilarious! I also like it when the cast members have fun with a skit. It would have helped they Lensmasters skit thats for sure, you could tell even the cast members didn't think that was funny.
I usually don't like the Brian Fellow's skits but that one was pretty funny for some reason.
Tracy Chapman also had me rolling during the dance class skit, "I think I'm about to shake loose a fart!"

I laughed harder at this SNL than I have all season.
I loved:
The American Idol skit
Jeans for Moms
Brian Fellows
The cartoon
Regis & Kelly
The gay porn-naming skit
The rest wasn't so good, but I was really laughing at the above skits.
That whole cartoon commercial break with the "Rocks" for Arab children was too fuuny.
