What planet was Mr. Bean from?

At the beginning of each episode, they show how he arrived on Earth: in a beam of light. So, what planet was Mr. Bean from anyway?

I'm more inclined to think that he was abducted by a passing saucer (a la Arthur Dent), but was rejected as a worthless specimen.

Still, that's the first time I've heard the space theory.

He really had a hard time with the English language in the series! And fitting in socially was another problem for Bean, obviously. If he was abducted, those aliens really f'ed him up!

I never got the impression that the beginning of the show meant he was a real alien or something... More like a metaphor -- it's just a way of introducing him... It's like: Okay, here's this really stupid guy. So stupid it's like he was born yesterday.

Sorta like that. The powers that be were so disgusted with him that they just dumped him. Completely worthless human being (most of the time).

Actually, Arthur Dent had the good fortune to escape the planet Earth just minutes before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass, with his friend, Ford Prefect, who turns out was not from Guildford, but a small planet in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, and............. OMG, I'm such a GEEK!!!
