That creature made me have a flashback to Mummy Returns with that Scorpion King effect, except it is better done.
Major problem I have: if Jasmine really is controlling this much of California then there should at least be some mention of this on Buffy.

It reminds me a bit of Species 5279 (? I'm not nerdy enough to know for sure but that sounds right) on Voyager, only done better.
EDIT: It's Species 8472.

While I thought it kind of stupid initially, this really turned into a kick arse episode! The final scenes had me thinking of LOTR with the tomb fight and the area in which Angel arrive looks a lot like Mordor, except it has bug people instead of Orcs. Great FX for a TV show IMO.

Not to sound like a broken record but another strong, focused episode. They are clearly playing into Conner and how/where he was raised and why he is so easily manipulated by strong females. Also it was great to see another episode written by the creator of The Tick. With word over at AICN that it appears Angel will indeed be back for another year & the strength of this year...I'm pretty pleased. And yes, Jazmine's increasing abilities to see & possess everyone is more than a little creepy. I really like how they are lighting Gina Torres most of the time 1/2 in light & 1/2 in shadow. The show is firing on all thrusters. 2 more weeks to go.

I really liked tonight's episode, except I am really getting annoyed by Gina Torres. She is driving me up the wall!
Conner has definitely got to go. Hopefully they will take him out of the lineup by the season finale to make room for a new cast member next season (if that's true, what great news!).
I did dig the closing sequence w/ Angel jumping to otherworld and the rest of the crew fighting off Jasmine's national guard.

I must be in the minority, but I'm not into this whole Jasmine storyline at all. Hell, the Rock Demon who blocked out the sun was more interesting. Unfortunately, it feels so underwhelming that "everything" that has happened on the show was nothing more than a series of planned events to unveil Jasmine. With two episodes left, I still have no idea what to think. But I'm more than willing to give "Angel" the benefit of the doubt.

This ep felt like I was watching John Doe. It seemed like a lot of filler then it pushed the story at the end.
Jasmine possesing people is creppy, especially that little girl in the SUV at the gas station. I kept waiting for Conner to get a clue this ep but it never happened. I thought Jasmine removed Cordy he was going to figure it out.

Not a strong ep. But I enjoyed it.
Been a very fun viewing season. Anyways.
Just wish all their problems this season would not
revolve about things in a bright glass orb.
Or inside of other things.

So, did Cordy get absorbed? Or is she just hidden away lest Jasmine's link to Earth be destroyed? I like the idea that her power is linked to her true name - though I'm pretty sure its been done before. I just can't place it.
Only 2 more episodes? Damn, this season flew by...

And I should have known, because I'm geeky enough to know that it's Mxyzptlk without having to look it up.
I'll use the excuse of lack of sleep for not thinking of that one.

Really great damn episode!!! I'm so in the palm of their hand at this point it's stupid. I liked the idea of Jasmine obviously having a history of devouring worlds before this one, makes her true hidden self bigger and far more ominous and insideous. I had a small feeling that the whole naming thing meant something when she was first introduced. I honestly have no idea where they are going with this but it has to be good. Every week we start in one spot and are left stranded somewhere completely unexpected. I have a feeling, if the renewal rumors are correct, this is going to be one hell of a hard summer to suffer through. Fortunately, even after credits close in two weeks, it's not the last we've seen of angel this May.

I dozed off during this episode. It just went on and on and on with little payoff. The Fred/Gunn moment was okay. Wes coming across the spider-demon dude was labored. Will have to try and watch it again on my ReplayTV later. Angel was really really lost. Lorne was dead wood.

At the end, all I could think was that Wesley didn't tell Angel how to activate the key. I'm almost positive that Angel didn't see Wesley activate the key with blood. I hope an episode isn't spent on Angel trying to figure out how to get back...

Was the blonde woman in the sewer played by the same woman who played Kristen (Kirsten, something like that) in Blair Witch 2:Book of Shadows? She looked so familiar, and that was the only thing I could come up with.
Great episode! I can't wait to see how they are gonna end this whole Jasmine thing. Definatly interesting.

While this may not have anything to do with the plots but more with the nerd in me, anyone else think that the rock beast and monster Angel fought last night would make some kick arse toys? I do!
