Lucky 4/15

Thoughts on last night's episode? Honestly, I thought it was not nearly as good as the pilot. I knew from the get-go that that woman was a scam artist.

Agreed, but it is still pretty darn great. I think it is going to be a perfect short run series. It won't outstay it's welcome and will give us a good laugh and some weekly cool. This is a great character show and I think it outweighs the story line.

After two episodes I'm really enjoying the show. Any thing that gives Dan Hedaya screen time is good in my book

The unlicensed gynecologist bit was great.

So I guess John Corbett is "lucky" that this show kept him away from "Greek Life".

That was my question, exactly.

And for this, John Corbett left "Sex and the City?"

Sad, sad, sad.

Decent enough episode, although not as good as the pilot. It was pretty obvious that the woman was a scam artist, but the sub-story, involing Lucky's two friends at the convention more than made up for it.

And Dan Hedaya was great as always.

That seems to be the standard sound effect for video games on TV. I think I've heard Atari 2600 PacMan more than anything when someone is supposedly playing a video game on TV. One I remember distinctly was on Roseanne - the kids were playing Atari 2600 Pacman on an NES.

Yes, obviously the lady was a scam artist... well, I figured it out when she showed up at security complaining about everything being stolen... but the whole show didn't depend on that fact. It was revealed halfway through, if not earlier. I thought this episode was even funnier than the first... Mother's "I'd like to agree with my colleague... but I CAAAAAAN'T!" rant had me rolling.

I thought it was less than enthralling. It seemed rather forced to me, and when Lucky gave the girl his money despite the danger it put him in with the mob, I was like, "Come on." I mean let's at least try to keep some semblence of realism here.

That said, it's not a bad show, just not as good as I had hoped yet. I'll stick with it to see if it gets better.

I think this is going to be one of Lucky's character traits. He wants to do the right thing... but he does it in a stupid way.

Takes up forum resources that can be better used elsewhere, I think. Most people have their e-mails available anyways, and if not, you can contact an admin and we can either pass a message along or give you a person's e-mail, if they approve.

I have to wonder if this show will dissolve into the gambling scam-of-the-week variety. Sure, there's probably quite a few scams to go through, but I can't see this show finding its legs if it goes this route. Lucky is probably going to be about "the means justify the ends" with a bit of "do the right thing" sprinkled in on a weekly basis.

Boy - I feel just the opposite of everyone. I feel this one was much funnier than the pilot. Had this one been like the pilot, I probably would have given up on the show.

I thought the female grifter looked better as a redhead than a blonde.

"Hey, he grabbed my boob!"

And when did FX allow cussing on their shows?

I take it you've never seen "The Shield"?

Good show, I'm glad I figured out the premier aired after the new episode, I had taped the two episodes so I was able to watch them in order.

I loved the heavy guy making money for Lucky at the end of episode 1, looks like the series could have potential but the talking to the mirror thing could get old....

This is turning into a great show. You gotta love the ensemble. I already set up a Season Pass on my TiVo.

Exactly how many episodes are there going to be of this show? I take it that it will only be a 1 season deal.
