Is Fox desperate for ratings, MJ home movies to air on fox
"King of Pop" or king of primetime television? Following two high-profile TV specials in February, Michael Jackson is returning to the small screen.
Fox and the producers behind "Michael Jackson: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See" will air a program tentatively titled "Michael Jackson's Private Home Movies" on April 24, the first night of the crucial sweeps ratings period.
The two-hour special will include a new Jackson interview along with videos narrated by the singer from his personal archive, including footage of friends and family, according to a Fox spokesperson, who said more details will surface in the coming weeks.
Jackson first appeared on TV this year in the controversial documentary "Living With Michael Jackson" on ABC (see "Jacko's Bizarre Behavior Examined In Two New Documentaries"). As a rebuttal to that special, which featured British journalist Martin Bashir's harsh commentary on the pop star, Jackson and Fox teamed up to tell his side of the story (see "Michael Jackson Strikes Back With 'Take Two' TV Special").
In other Jackson news, the singer canceled plans to appear in Austria on Sunday because of security concerns at a time of war, according to an organizer of the event. Jackson was scheduled to introduce a charity project for children in the western Austrian ski resort of Ischgl, where he was also to give a rare performance.
The singer recently lost a steep lawsuit over a pair of canceled performances (see "Jury Says Michael Jackson Must Pay $5.3 Million To Promoter").

We don't care anymore. The guy is a freak, that is all.

I think this makes MJ look a lot more desperate than Fox.
Does anyone else love the way Fox just foreited Thursday nights this year? It opened the door for just about anything cheap to be shown. Man vs. Beast being my favorite.

Does anyone still care about Michael Jackson? If it was still the 1980's i supposed we'd all somewhat care about the man...but can anyone honestly say they care about a guy who looks like a walking mannequin?
I can fully believe FOX would show this crap because they will show just about anything thats stupid.

I personally have a morbid fascination with MJ, I just cannot wait to see what crazy out there thing he gets into next. I mean, it seems like the guy is some sort of derranged mutant creature not meant to be created and unleashed upon a world with no need for him.

The part where MJ goes grocery shopping as his friends dressed up as shoppers was bizarre and the highlight of the special.

Sadly, this just adds more evidence to the fact that Jackson is nuts (in reference to MJ grocery part, I haven't seen it, nor can comment further since no one is posting a summary).

MJ had someone stage the grocery shopping bit so he could experience what us ordinary people experience. The store was closed except for him, his employees and friends. He mentioned that he hasn't been to a grocery store in 30 years. You could understand it more if he were going to an actual working store open to the public. He would be mobbed.
I missed the first half hour but most of the clips were taken at the Neverland ranch and the behind the video scenes. He and his family including Janet were enjoying a day on the rides at Neverland and celebrating his father's (birth) day. There were scenes of MJ playing with McCauley Culkin and scenes with Greg Peck and Liz Taylor. The behind the videos included shots with Michael Jordon and teaching him how to do the moon walk and dance. There were outtakes with Chris Tucker and Eddie Murphy on two other videos.
