I thought it was much funnier than the past two episodes- but it was shockingly odd. I dont get why they slammed J Lo so bad? I can think of any number of celebs who are just as untalented and worthy of some ribbing. It seemed like they were just picking up a current tabloid gossip story (J Lo being a diva) and making a mean spirited show about it, which is pretty lame. But, I laughed.

Cartman isnt gay: the kids are all pre-sexual, on that boundry where they are interested and concious of sex but not fully matured. In other words, they are raunchy, twisted fourth graders. Heck, Cartman gave hand jobs to dogs; once you've done that, Ben Affleck probably isnt much worse.

While the HJ is indeed quite racy, I couldn't help but laugh. Guess I'm not a whiny liberal or religious freak. God help me.

My point was that I'm FAR from one of those people that thinks everything should be banned or censored at the drop of a hat. I had no problem with them "milking" the dog or things coming out of Cartman's ass on a regular basis. But am I the only one that thought it was a little "weird" to see a 10-year old giving Ben Affleck a handjob? Jokes about Michael jackson or priests molesting little kids are funny (like Dennis Miller's "I went to confession and said 'You first'"), but I don't want to SEE it on TV, even if it is a cartoon. What's next - Cartman's mom and Butters screwing? Would that be ok? Hell, I'm all for raunchy and racy (that's why I watch the show), but I think that was alittle too much. I laughed at first, then realized it was really Cartman's hand and felt a bit turned off by the idea. Maybe if the rest of the episode was actually funny, it would have distracted me and I wouldn't feel this way.

It's not a huge deal to me - just an observation. Won't stop me from watching the show or buying the season DVDs. Living in Denver and going to South Park (county) frequently, I think the show is great--it's just one minor criticism.

Would I mind watching Butters getting it on with Mrs. Cartman? Hmmm. I'd have to think about it.

So having a gerbil put in someone's ass isn't disturbing...

Yeah - I have to say that takes the cake for most controversial scene.

Buttmunker 04-17-03 02:21 PM

Man, I thought I was a strange little kid when I was jacking off my father's friend's dog - in a dark, private room. I heard someone coming, so I stopped, but the dog was clearly aroused with liquid dripping on their carpet. I don't think they knew I had caused their dog to get that way, but when the owner tried to shoo the dog out, the dog actually growled at him.

I never said a word.

Um, if that's true you were in fact a strange little kid.

Wow.

Didn't really like the episode, but any episode with this wide a reaction did something right.

Strafe 04-18-03 09:23 AM

Just gotta throw this out - Cartman is not a 10 year old. Cartman is a cartoon character.

Long live Kenny!

I laughed my ass off at that epsiode...one of the funniest episodes ever. "Oh, Jesus Christ...."

I'm sure it violated the gerbil's aninmal rights, but it didn't involve a little kid and a sex act. In addition to 'inheriting' 2 children and finding the episode not that funny to begin with, I think my senses were just heightened for some criticism of that particular episode.

I think we all know that we're discussing the image it projected. Or apparently we don't all know that.

About the Taco and Burrito song...I didn't find it funny as it was done back during an episode years ago with cartman playing Wild Wild West and had Selma Hayek tied up:

James West: "Quick Artemis Clyde Frog, we've got to save Selma Hayek!"

Artemis Clyde Frog: "If we save her, I'm going to take off her pants and play slip and slide."

James West: "Are you OK Selma Hayek?"

Selma: "Yes, but I need to get out of here and eat some tacos and burritos! Me gusto tacos mucho!"
The taco/burrito thing just reminded me of that episode, and I thought that reference was much funnier. Just my $.02.

mllefoo 04-18-03 01:28 PM

"I'd write you a song, or a poem, or something. But I have no talent."

I think they ripped on Ben more than J-Lo. That line had me laughing.

MrN 04-18-03 01:52 PM

I thougth it was so-so. I laughed, but this stands, to me, at the low end of this mini-season.

tha_dvd_man 04-19-03 12:08 PM

I thought it was kind of funny, particularly the rips they take at JLo and Affleck, but South Park is at its lowest when they rely on sheer shock imagery for humor.

My thoughts EXACTLY! This was NOTHING compared to what Cartman does in last season's "The Simpsons Already Did It". He admits to giving an old man in an alley multiple blowjobs for jiz. I would say THAT is worse!

I too have had the "taco, taco" riff stuck in my head for several days. ;)

conscience 04-21-03 10:16 AM

"I'm Pueeeerrto Ri-Can."

Rogue588 04-21-03 11:31 AM

Anyone know where I can find an mp3 of "Taco Flavoured Kisses"?

[Either the original version or the slow jam remix at the end..]

CaptainMarvel 04-21-03 11:42 AM

I thought the song at the end was just the "Oh Ben, I love as much as... tacoes." Song.
