Don't you just love it when people act like they know all about music and diss the other other music? And the word hate. I'm not even sure if people really do hate the music or the skin color of people who perform them.
If you don't know rap, just shut your pie hole and watch your American Idol. I'm sure that has better material then Chappelle's Show and it's music.
BTW, this ain't poetry class, rap doesn't have to rhyme. It's all about keeping the flow w/ the beat. But you wouldn't get that anyway...

It's not Rap as a genre. It's the people he has on. That have no talent besides being about to come up with words that rhyme.

Hell I have a class with a rich Asian guy that has more of a knowledge of rap and hip hop culture than most Black people I know.#2. The people he has on are not the mainstream usual suspects that are on tv whenever rap music is a topic for discussion. Mos Def (the second rapper on last night's show) is in a BAND called Jack Johnson. The Roots are a BAND and quite a few of the people on his show play real instruments and have other talents I'm sorry they didn't meet your standards.
Finally I respect everyone in this thread opinion to like or hate rap. What I don't respect is how some of you dismiss it as garbage because YOU don't like it. Case inpoint In the Mature forum everyweek there is a babe of the week thread and I have yet to see a woman posted in those threads that "I" find attractive does that mean that every thread that he starts is crap? No just means it's not for me and I don't bother with them. No point in me crapping in them because I know they will be there EVERY week so I "Get Over It"

Guys, focus on the shows not on each other. There isn't anything wrong with saying you liked this part and didn't like that part, but the bickering about these parts has got to stop.
