No they didn't. That was my biggest problem with the episode. Come on, did the writers honestly think people wouldn't notice that big a$$ plot hole? Yes it was a ripoff of ST6 but like someone else mentioned, at least the episode resembled something trek in nature. Wasn't that bad, wasn't that good.

How sad is that? That's the best we can get now: it resembled Trek.

Wizdar once again shows his complete ignorance with regard to donkey balls. From The Myths and Truths About Donkey Castration

As mature adults, donkeys either have a greater blood supply to their testicles or at least greater pressure exerted through their testicular arteries

Clearly this has some relevance to this week's Klingon episode. I'm sure I'll find it somewhere...

That is exactly what I was wondering. The Enterprise escaped. WTF happened?

Chew pretty much answers that, I think. And, it would have been good (not great) for someone who hasn’t seen ST:VI.

Not great? Look at it this way. It’s like going to a restaurant and ordering a great meal. Except, the waiter forgot the appetizers (the episode that should have shown how Archer got in that prediciment in the first place), he’s gonna forget to bring the desert (why did the Klingons just let him walk outta there), he keeps oogling your date’s boobs (T'Pol) and, when the main dish arrives, there’s a coupla rat turds and some pubic hair on the plate. And they’re not yours (the pubes, not the turds). And, to make things worse, you’ve had this kind of service at this restaurant before and should know better than to come back…

So, OK guys. It’s the mule what gots no balls, yes?

If people hate Enterprise so much, why do you bother watching? Do you force yourself through it just so you can come to an internet board and bash it?

How can you know whether you like something or not unless you actually watch it?

It’s like taking a dump. It’s a waste of time, and you feel dirty afterwards, but it’s something you gotta do.

Here's the answer I gave this very question a few months back:

I still watch it because I still find bad Trek more fun to watch then a lot of the other stuff I watch. I still look forward to Enterprise every week.

Even though it's childish and unoriginal, filled with bad writing and bad acting:
--it still has a small sense of wonder (might need a microscope)
--it has pretty cool effects
--it has Jeffrey Combs
--it has Trip (a fun character, I think)
--although fairly wandering I enjoy the Temporal Cold War
--it has several species the original Trek had and we haven't seen since
--it still has another season until it reachs the magical third (when Next Gen/DS9 really got going---will it happen, who knows?)
--and has the future possibility of Federation birth and the possible Romulan war (per Balance of Terror from TOS). That's a lot to keep me going.

Space-based sci-fi is my favorite genre and it's quickly shrinking now that Farscape is down to it's last few episodes.
Besides, if last nights South Park has taught us anything: it's the American right to do something on the one hand and protest about it on the other

They probably realized that this was just a show trial and they only wanted Archer since he's the captain. The judge said that the ship and crew were spared. And Archer has been willing to sacrifice himself before in order for the crew to survive, like in "Shockwave". It wouldn't be that hard for the Klingons to track down the Enterprise considering like all the future ships, it just wanders around getting into trouble.

First episode of Enterprise I've seen this season. I'll pretty much echo what every one else has said. Bad Undiscovered Country rip-off, without Christopher Plumer (sp?) no less , but overall, I've seen far worse. The plot holes were so big you could actually fly the Enterprise through them though...

Why I still watch Enterprise:
1. I don't bash things I haven't seen. I mean really, don't you hate those people who complain about movies or shows even though they've never seen a single episode?
2. It was stated early that TNG and DS9 didn't really get going until the end of season 2 / beginning of season 3. It takes awhile for most shows to get off the ground and this one is no exception.
3. Not that NBC has moves/cancelled Ed, I have nothing else to watch before The West Wing on Wednesday nights.

Well, I've never seen an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but I already know that it's hokey and dumb with no character development and no one with a brain could sit through it.

The newest creative consultant on the Enterprise writing staff (pictured below) told news agencies this morning that "Enterprise is very interesting and fresh and not recycled from any other previous show. There no plot holes or timeline inconsistencies. All the fans love the show and will watch as long as we want them to."

ehhh.....what can I say. Unfortunately the Trek franchise is going down faster than Cristina Aguilera on a record producer.

I still stick around for the scraps that are left. I still enjoy it.

As long as they keep making the ornaments

Is it true that the Special Edition of Star Trek VI will redub Iman's line so that she now says "Listen. No one has ever escaped from Rura Penthe. Except, of course, for Captain Archer."

Man, I just watched this episode, and boy did it suck. I literally fell asleep while I was watching it.

I gave up on Enterprise over a month ago, but I've been feeling constipated so I've been reading the recent threads to get caught up and I've decided to get back on board for the rest of the season just to see how much worse things get.
