Simpsone 3/30

Well... I won't write a spoiler tag, but I will just say that it was not a good episode... it had its moment but nothing too special although Millhouse made me laugh at the end of the episode.

Mopower 03-30-03 07:32 PM

Homer saved it from completely circling the drain, as any episode centered around Lisa usually does.

"I wish God was alive to see this, sniff" rotfl

movieking 03-30-03 07:33 PM

Pretty subpar episode, IMO. I was expecting more involvement from Eric Idle.

Simpson Purist 03-30-03 07:40 PM

9.5/10

Best episode of the season so far. Just about everything worked in this episode. The only lame jokes were the alien asteroid and (despite a good use of the joke) another Carl and Lenny is gay reference. Otherwise it was a fine episode with a coherent plot that got started right from the first minute.

BTW, tonight's Futurama was great too.

Bust 03-30-03 07:49 PM

I guess I'm going to be in the minority on this one. I thought this was one of the best episodes I've seen in years. Everything in it worked for me, and I was  almost the whole time. The absurdity of the whole "perma-noon" setting on the dimmer switch was hilarious.

Not to mention what everyone was seeing in the stars when they first dimmed the lights:
Mr. Burns - dollar sign
Cletus - cent sign rotfl
Flanders - star of david
Lenny - Carl

Fat Tony's crew beating up the bird!

"Hey, you're not John Ritter!"
"Andy you're not that gorilla from the zoo!"

shaun3000 03-30-03 08:03 PM

Yep, I thought it was hilarious.

And it DIDN'T revolve around Homer!

Ranger 03-30-03 08:19 PM

It was OK.

Samuel 03-30-03 09:13 PM

Great episode!

That scene when one of the meteors struck, Professor Frink is going on about providing proof of outerspace life forms and the little green alien tells him "shut up",

That was hilarious!

Also Krusty stapling the burger halves together and then Milhouse at the end in the documentary, rotfl

wildcatlh 03-30-03 09:21 PM

I thought it was a hilarious episode. One of the better ones I've seen this season.

MrX 03-30-03 10:33 PM

"This sash makes me Ultra Man"

I thought it was ok. The documentray at the end was hilarious especially the part with Milhouse

SuperJim88 03-30-03 10:46 PM

"Live from New York, It's saturday night." Marge....

One question though, whatever happend to the intro? I've always enjoyed reading what Bart writes on the chalkboard during the intro, now it's shorten to just the going to the couch scene. :(

But nonetheless, this episode was

Deftones 03-30-03 11:14 PM

I didn't think it was all that great. Futurama was about 10x better tonight.

SuperJim, they usually use the long intro. Sometimes they'll shorten the intro to get in a few extra minutes for the show... or more commercials.

Didn't Bart destroy it in the 304th episode..?

Disappointing ep. Especially after last weeks..

Milhouse at the end was the only thing that saved it..

j123vt_99 03-31-03 07:41 AM

refresh my memory.. what was the milhouse thing at the end?

Chopper 03-31-03 08:29 AM

The Milhouse thing was about him saying how he was going to hit play baseball when he grew up & then there was a montage of his futility at the plate (both against a live pitcher & off of a tee). Pretty funny stuff.

And Frink throwing the microscope was pretty quality.

j123vt_99 03-31-03 08:47 AM

oh yeah.. that was great

The Milhouse thing was the best part of that horrid episode.

I hope it gets way better next week.

mdc3000 03-31-03 11:45 AM

they were on a roll recently with some pretty solid episodes in the last few weeks, but this one was just alright... the milhouse bit was great and the stars in the sky bit was funny, but other than that, it was just alright...

This episode sure is running the gambit from "best in years" to pretty "subpar"

I just thought it was: m'eh

Well, maybe not everyone was as stoned out of their mind as I was last night. I'll rewatch it sober and post the results. I have a feeling I'm still going to love it though!

Otto mentioned that the stars looked cool and he wasn't even on drugs, but that they sure would enhance it.

I guess we'll see what your results are. :D

edytwinky 03-31-03 12:34 PM

Pretty sub-par season in general

BlackCapTen 03-31-03 01:11 PM

Very funny episode, laughed out loud several times. The Homer quote where he "wishes God was alive" made me laugh the most. Did they make reference to the planet "Rigel 7" existing?
