Stagate SG1 zat gun question
I know 1 shot stuns, 2 kill and 3 disentegrates, but is there a time limit between shots before it'll reset back to 1 stunning?
in the ep last night on sci-fi they said they couldn't shoot the scientist because a second shot would kill him even though it had been some time since his first shot. They end up shooting Oneal. I'm 99% sure Oneal has been hit with a zat before. So how long would one have to wait before a "second" shot would act like a first?

don't take it too seriously. I remember the "wormhole x" episode where someone proposed that a 3rd shot would dissentigrate, and the producer said thats the stupidest thing he had ever heard...

Yeah, they play fast and loose with the 2nd shot kills thing. I know Oneal has taken 2-3 hits within the span of a single episode.
Also, the Stargate works differently than it did a few seasons ago. The was a time lag between travelling (a few seconds) and it was a rough trip. Now it's instantaneous and smooth as silk.

Don’t take it too seriously?? Dude, it’s important!
mikehunt wants to know. Hell, I want to know.

mike, I’ve asked the same question myself. I don’t recall it ever being addressed in the series.
[geek alert] It’s obvious that, given a certain amount of time, the zat effects wear off. Also, it’s possible that the zat effects are specific to each weapon, so that I can shoot das with mine, and, later, you could shoot him with yours, and he’d still be able to remember more about any show ever aired than you or me combined.
It’s also likely that going through the ring transporter resets or eliminates any previous zat zaps.
What?!? This kind of speculation is no different than much of the stuff that has become Trek [geek] lore.
