Having just received Angel season 3, I thought I'd watch Amy Acker and Vincent Kartheiser's audition.

Amy was brilliant, in the audition Alexis and J August were both under a love spell (Gunn started reciting Shakepear!). You can really see that she shines and would fit in well with the cast.

Vincent Kartheiser's audition was less than stellar IMO. I still can't see why they chose him, he just seemed mouthy and arrogant, more so than you're average teen.
I suppose they wanted someone strong enough to stand up to Angel, but personnally I think they got it wrong.

The worst thing about him was still to come, there's a piece in the "special features" called "page to screen".
All the actors were talking about how they only get the script a few hours before filming.
Anyhow Vincent Kartheiser said "The first thing I do is call the scriptwriters up and tell them what sh*t I think it is".

Now obviously he was joking, although he said it with a straight face, but I think that exactly highlights what sort of energy he puts into Connor and why very few of the fans I've talked to like him.

I love Amy Acker, she's just so adoable.

I agree, I don't understand why alot of people hate Fred. Conner on the other hand can't be killed off fast enough.

I think Vincent does his own fights, I havn't noticed a stunt double. It could be he was hired because of his fighting 'skills'.

Did I do a Freudian slip with "adoable"? Doh!

Conner has no likability for the viewers, just hard to like him, maybe that was the intension, cast someone who does not give a damn, and maybe we'll see a big change in the character, or do whatever with the character, be interesting to follow.

Absolutely. I'd rank her as one of the cutest actresses on television, though I'm certain not too many people would agree. (None of my friends do, at least...)

Dude, I think Amy Acker is just awesome! She is cute! Include me with the majority that dislikes Connor. I just think his character is useless. Much like Dawn on Buffy, and Gunn from Angel as well, it is the same thing every week. All Dawn does is wine "Buffy, Buffy pay attention to me," Gunn is always "I am from the street so I'll never trust you Angel or will I never consider you the good guy," and Connor is always "Your not my Father, you killed my Father, I am going to kill you." I would like to see the producers, at the end of the season and if Angel gets renewed, to dump both Connor and Gunn and replace them with Willow and Spike. I just think Willow and Spike would fit in better with the current format of Angel. Gunn has seemed really out of place since the end of the second season and Connor has never worked IMO.
