ABC Unveils New 'Bachelor' - Great Grandson of Firestone Tire Founder

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - After weeks of speculation, ABC has announced that the next star of "The Bachelor" will be Andrew Firestone, a 27-year-old with a spectacularly diverse business lineage. Firestone will begin wooing women when the "The Bachelor 3" begins on Wednesday, March 26 at 9 p.m. ET .
Firestone's great-grandfather Harvey founded the tire company that bears the family name, while his father, Brooks, started the Firestone Vineyard, where Andrew currently works as sales manager, under his brother Adam.
Originally, producers wanted Adam Firestone to be their Bachelor, only to find him ineligible due to his having a wife and four children. Adam, however, suggested they talk to his younger, single brother.
Andrew Firestone, whose mother is former British Royal Ballet soloist Catherine Boulton Firestone, was born in Santa Barbara County's Santa Ynez Valley and went to prep school before attending the University of San Diego. He graduated with a degree in business administration in 1998 and backpacked around Europe before returning to the family business.
On the vineyard's website, Firestone says, "I plan on starting a family someday, and by growing the family business, I will be building my children's future as well."
ABC, no doubt, will have no problems finding women who want nothing more than to share that dream.

I still don't think these matchups can work (i.e. result in marriage) with such an extended delay between taping and airing since the couple has to stay away from each other during the delay.

Well, I just finished the 2nd episode and by the looks of the message board, it's just me watching it. And that's not a bad thing- This season is fairly lame. But my wife loves it, so that means I'll be watching it with her. Sad.

I've been watching. I far prefer this to Joe Millionaire - the women are much better looking. I think it was that the one girl is a total lush and she advanced.
Kirsten is definitely my favorite right now.

I saw the 1st episode for this season, and have the following 2 episodes on my ReplayTV, but haven't found all that much to compel me to watch these episodes until I've exhausted my ReplayTV queue of shows.
