Actually, I think that Sloane is also a pawn in Irena's plan. Remember that Sark originally worked for her and that it was Sark who approached Sloane. She wanted Sloane as an asset because of the Rambaldi artifacts that he posessed and because he had both motive and opportunity to bring down the Alliance.

I think Irena turned herself in to the CIA for several reasons-- 1) she honestly cares for Sydney and wanted to have some contact with her, 2) it was a way for her to orchestrate the takedown of the Alliance and have the CIA do all the legwork, 3) she is now equipped with initmate knowledge about her enemies.

I think we knew all along that she was bad and that the good times wouldn't last. After all, it was she that Rambaldi prophesied about that would use his inventions for evil and that she never saw that one mountain, etc.

He admitted to it all when she found him in the bar. All the stuff he was doing was gathering intel on her mother to see if she was working against them.

Her mother was a KGB agent sent to America to spy on the CIA and faked her death as a way to get away from Jack when Syd was young. Their was some stuff with her last year indirectly, but this season is the first we've actually seen her face. She turned herself into the CIA at the start of this season and has been working with them since then until last night

Can some explain why the CIA would allow Irina to have the Rambaldi documents in her cell after Jack & Irina returned? This makes no sense to me. And even if there is some kind of reasonable explaination why wouldn't they make sure they had the documents prior to Irina leaving on the mission to capture Sloane? How in the world could the CIA let Irina leave while in possession of the documents?

There is a HUGE hole in this story.

Sloppy writing. Or it was a condition for her to help the CIA.

Last nights "Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Presents: Alias" was pretty good, but I saw Irina escaping a mile away. Jack Bristow is probably the most stupid/naive/gullible CIA operative ever! Get a clue, PapaJackass!

I agree w/ the sentiments in regard to Irina/Sark using Sloane to get to his portion of the Rambaldi goodies. I can't wait to see how he gets screwed. Maybe they will actually kill off his wife, too, since she seems to be the only person other than Sydney that he cares for. Kill her to get at him. Why the hell not? Irina is definitely the Big Bad in this show's universe, not Sloane.

The creepiest part of the show was Will's dream sequence w/ FrancieBot- I kept thinking how f***ed up that was. Then they show the hypnosis...Sydney needs to put a cap in the 'Bots ass, fo' real. I imagine that will happen sooner rather than later, because of the KH-11 satellite and Will. The info is going to start falling into place.

Marshall - "Wow, you're tough" to Irina.

Where the hell was Dixon? They tease us w/ his return last week and then they totally screw us w/ his character this week.

i must be one of the few people who prefer pre reboot Alias

whilst it is still good, i feel it lacks that originality now

i've grown ti dislike Vaughn and almost wanted him to be evil

He doesn't deserve to be getting into Sydney's pants !

Unless somebody who had access to the documents gave them to her.

The most obvious answer is that Irina worked out a deal with the CIA: she helps in getting the Rambaldi documents and gets access to them once they are in CIA possession.

What was the song that was playing in the backround during that scene? (2nd episode after reboot), it sounded like coldplay or dave mathews band.

don't remember for sure, but I think it was Coldplay's "The Scientist" off of their latest album, A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Actually, I have the cd but when I was watching it for the first time, I wasn't quite sure. I watched that particular scene again last night (in its entirety of course), and then put the cd in. Its actually called "god put a smile on your face".

ok, i finally watched this last night. i know a few others have mentioned this, but i kinda think that irina is actually working to bring sloane down. she may not be working directly for the CIA's but i still think that the ending of the show is not what it seems, which is typical with this show. i guess that i am one of the few ones who actually like to see irina as a relative 'good guy'. that is not to say she is a saint, but i like to see her trying to redeem herself.

Okay, thanks for the correction - I guess I have it confused w/ John Doe and Smallville, both have played Coldplay lately and I know one of them played "The Scientist". It was probably John Doe - I have noticed over the last few months that Coldplay has popped up quite a bit. Even if I am disappointed w/ John Doe's storyline continuity they alway do a good job w/ their music selection - much like Alias does.
