Sensational interviews are likely to dominate the TV ratings tonight (Wednesday) as CBS airs an interview with Saddam Hussein on 60 Minutes II and with convicted "preppie killer" Robert Chambers on 48 Hours, while ABC carries a 20/20 interview taped in the L.A. County jail with Baretta star Robert Blake, who is accused of murdering his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley. Commenting on the Chambers-Blake face-off at 10:00 p.m., Boston Globe TV writer Matthew Gilbert described it as "Network Tabloid Smackdown!" In a newsletter promoting the Blake interview, Walters wrote Tuesday that when Blake shook her hand, he remarked that it was the first time he had been allowed to touch a woman in almost a year. "Blake ... told me that he agreed to the interview over the protests of his lawyers ... because he wanted his daughter Rosie, now 2 1/2 years old, to know he was not a monster," Walters said.

Thanks--I really wanted to see the interview with Saddam. Letterman talked about it last night, but didn't say (I don't think) whether it was on 60 Minutes II or after that... Good to know. Gotta set the TiVo!

You know when a reality show isnt on and they have exhausted Michael Jackson as a subject they turn to Murderers.

Actually it would have been a better idea if they wrote a sitcom with these three characters.
