what's with the audiences of spanish talkshows???

whenever i flip to the spanish channels here in dc, the ones that are like jerry springer, lots of audience members are in prosthetic makeup and costumes!?! since i can't speak spanish can someone explain this and these shows? (also, why is there always a little person on stage?).

Not a talk show.....there more like variety shows, crazy contests, famous actors/actresses, music acts, (lack of)talent shows....stuff like that.

Don't know about the prosthetic makeup though.

Yeah that sounds like one of those variety shows like Sabado Gigante. But the audiences on Spanish talk shows that I have seen actually hit the guests as they are leaving the set. It is great to watch as is but I wish I understood what they were saying. Should have paid more attention during my four years of Spanish class.

I don't get the guys in drag or androgynous-looking people on some of these Spanish shows. What's that about?

That's probably Laura.....think Jerry Springer mixed with Oprah, I know a strange mix, but thats kinda how it is.
