ABC is developing a new dating show format, "Boys and Girls," which bows in the U.K. on March 1.
In a live studio with a party atmosphere, 100 boys and 100 girls are quizzed on each other. Their ability to predict how the other sex thinks will determine who goes through to a final round where one person walks away with 100,000 pounds ($166,000), which they must spend in a week. The winner also chooses a member of the opposite sex to join in on the shopping trip.
The following week, viewers must decide whether they have spent their money wisely, and they will either get to keep everything they have bought or leave empty handed.
The Channel 4 show was created by Brit DJ and TV presenter Chris Evans, who devised mid-'90s hits "Don't Forget Your Toothbrush" and "TFI Friday".
