LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - In the what's-old-is-new-again spirit of this development season, FOX has ordered a pilot for a remake of the 1960s comedy "Mister Ed."
The show will have the same premise as the original -- a guy owns a horse that talks, but only to him, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The twist for the remake is that the horse has a hip-hop sensibility instead of the original's countrified drawl.
"Saturday Night Live" writer Jack Handey wrote the pilot and is executive producing with Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Dawn Parouse.
Adelstein, Moritz and Parouse, partners in production company Original Entertainment, have also landed another comedy at FOX. "The Pool at Maddy Breakers," written by Ron Leavitt ("Married ... with Children" ), is about three women in their late 20s who come to the sobering realization that their best years may be behind them.
The network has also given a pilot order to the comedy "Arrested Development," about several generations of a wealthy family in Orange County, Calif.
Oh my gawd! The world has officially come to an end!

Aren't there any original ideas left that we have to continue remaking stuff?
What's next a Gilligan's Island remake? Maybe update it to be Gilligan's Planet?
Oh wait, they did that already.............

I'm thinking this show could work well if done in the spirit of "The Princess and the Homeboy," except, well, the Homeboy is a horse and stuff.
"Shut up, and get me a sammich, bitch!"

"T-Dawg, Thats my Ice cream cone."
"Alright, here, come and get it!"
How long before we hear the term "horse's ass" being used the punchline to a joke.

Once again FOX has left me speachless..
What exactly does one say about "Mr.Ed from the hood"?
How in the hell will a friggin talking horse appeal to the "hip hop crowd"?
Mr. Horse from Ren & Stimpy was better than Mr. Ed.

Are you sure this is from Fox and not Sci-Fi? It sounds like something that Bonnie Hammer would conjure up. I mean, it has a talking horse, making it qualify as sci-fi.
