NYPD Blue 2/11
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that it will turn out that Laughlin is not the one that set up Clarke with the heroin in his car? This despite even this new evidence.
And is this new evidence a little shaky?
Shannon did not SEE laughlin do it.
I was kind of surprised they were so quick to release Clarke based on this totally circumstancial evidence.
I could be wrong but it seems a little suspect.

Wow. I thought I was the only one still watching this show on here. There hasn't been a thread on it in a long time, yet you can't start a Smallville, Buffy, Alias or 24 thread soon enough.
My girlfriend thought the same thing. But, when IAB got involved, Laughlin was the one that was singled out as far as turning in his papers...
While it's not "real time" like 24, this particular storyline aspect [Clark in jail], has been going on for three weeks now. So I wouldn't consider it quickly.
Of course, that's just my opinion.

I was surprised at how quickly that they resolved Clark's problem. I don't think we have seen the conclusion to that either.

"Welcome to the Smallville 5/04/04 thread. Post comments here."
Anyway, solid ep. I too was thinking there would be more to the Laughlin story than simply him planting the drugs, and since his partner never actually saw it, that thread's still open I think. I loved the scene where Ortiz stumbled out of her "reunion" with Clark to interview the gangbanger. I hope Andy and Connie can work things out; I want something good to happen for those two.

My wife and I were both wondering whether Laughlin really did it. His protests upon being arrested seemed too sincere - he has always been cocky and would probably have copped an attitude if he did it. But maybe I'm wrong. It would be some good writing if this storyline isn't over so neatly and we find out later that either someone else framed Clark, or the drugs really were his!

Yeah - they sure wrapped that up into a neat little package in a hurry. It was almost like they meant to end in last week's episode but didn't have the available time to cram it in.
