King of the Hill 2/9
I love John Redcorn episodes, he's one of my favorite characters of the show, and this one didn't disappoint. Although in the beginning it seemed a little like retread, once Dale was convinced he was an indian, it got really funny and didn't let up. I especially liked his visit to the class (which was a play on when John Redcorn visited Bobby's class).
On the more serious side of the show, it seems like they have Joseph bonding with John Redcorn more. I wonder where they will go from here with that? Oh yeah, learning John Redcorn's background as a rodie was great.
PS The dog dancing episode is a pure classic. Dog dancing is actually real (like food eating from that Kid Rock episode). One of my favorites I've seen in a long time. The way the three plot-lines interweave is excellent, and the sentimental ending is also great. The Bill plot is probably the funniest, but I also enjoy Hank's love for LadyBird and seeing that part was good as well.
I notice this show never gets a weekly thread so I figured I'd start one up. It's consistently the best show on Sunday nights (OK Malcom may rival it, but not always, Malcom can be a little too much sometimes and it is younger than KotH).

I agree that this weeks episode was pretty good but normally this is the most boring 30 minutes of the night. Anytime they include Peggy, its just not funny. They need to focus more on the 4 guys. That's when its good.

I am a big King of the Hill fan and I can't stand Peggy. But it seems like the better episodes involve her screwing something up like when she brought the extra child back from the field trip to Mexico. And what's funny is that she is a substitute Spanish teacher and can't speak Spanish.

I am a KOTH fan, but I don't get to see the show nearly as much as I used to. Sunday nights used to be a powerhouse night for Fox, but now....it's like "ghost world," really. It's just an empty shell of what it used to be. Nothing against KOTH, just the rest of the line up, that's why I haven't seen KOTH much. I forget when it's on and it's usually between some shows I hate.
I did try watching Simpsons again last night, really hoping for the best. It was as painful as seeing a loved one on their death bed. Good thing Bravo was showing the the Simpsons cast on In The Actor's Studio so I had something to laugh at (and we got to see clips of OLD SIMPSONS!!! It reminded me of why and how the show was and could be good.)
I tell ya, KOTH teaches me much! I never knew that. I was thinking it was kinda disturbing and thinking nobody would actually do that, then I find this out. I guess I missed that on the Animal Planet!

I think Sunday night is a powerhouse for Fox. Two huge anchors: KotH and Malcom, with The Simpsons in the middle of the sandwich.
Now The Simpsons humor has defnitely evolved, but I expect it to do so after so many years. In essence, it has dematured, starting primative, becoming mature and story oriented, and now becoming extremely loose and with lots of sight gags. King of the Hill has basically done the same thing, except now it's very storyline oriented and still character driven. Malcom has hit its stride. I used to not like it at the start, Malcom was this whiny little kid I couldn't relate to. Now that he's grown up and he's tolerable and become a better actor, the show has really been good. I like how the show has evolved with the ages of the kids and not tried to prolong something like they used to do in Saved by the Bell or 90210 where they keep the kids in one spot as long as they can.

KotH has that rare quality the Simpsons use to have (still love the Simpsons though) : that self depricating poignant humor. I honestly got a much bigger rile outta KotH during that oh so vaunted 3 hour block of heaven.
I wonder how many of you miss some of the quintessential "Texas" gags that Big Dave and I lose bladder control over?

Yeah I always get a kick out of seeing them eat at Whattaburger, and the various other things they like to do. As someone who speaks pretty good Spanish speaker though, the stuff that comes out of Peggy's mouth is hilarious.
