Low speed pursuit?

So, i'm watching KCAL 9 in L.A. and there is a low speed pursuit going on. the suspect is going 35-50 MPH on the freeway. any guesses as to why the suspect is going so slow?

To save fuel & be on tv longer.

One of the news stations last year interviewed
one of these dimwits. And for the most part they
wanted to be seen & their 10 minutes of fame.

Hey, the guys smarter then the one chase down in florida a few days ago where the moron car jacked a Mail truck. thats an automatic 25 years in Federal Pound you in the arse prision.

Maybe the driver is old, lost his teeth between his legs, and we finally have proof that senior citizens cannot drive...

He wanted FOX 11 helicopter to get airborne, because no one watches KCAL (KHJ?).

Most pursuits are low speed, from my experience. If a policeman tries to do a traffic stop and you don't stop, but don't speed, that turns into a low speed pursuit.

Pursuits have nothing to do with not being able to catch up to someone one, they have everything to do with not getting someone to stop.

no idea...but it was on every friggin channel. i mean, i just want to watch TV shows, not some idiot crawling on the freeway.

edit: my co-worker said that the guy drove into a dead end residential street, and the cops got him there.
