I thought it was Olivia d'Abo, not Maryam. (They're second cousins or some such, I believe; Maryam = cello player in The Living Daylights, Olivia = Karen in The Wonder Years.) I could be wrong, though.

It was Olivia... I saw her name in the credits.
How did the fake Lennox even get a call into CIA-LA?
Yellow Pages? Both Hawke & D'Abo's characters were compromised and captured... maybe someone rifled through their stuff and found a number? Or once the bad guys found out they were spies, they did some searching with some sort of Evil Spy Google that has faces in it and matched aliases to agents. Admittedly, spies probably do not have a card in their wallets that say "CIA-LA, Call In Case Of Emergency."
I liked how Sydney forced the fake Lennox to expose himself. That's good clear logical thinking in a short amount of time.
It totally reminded me of the story of Solomon and the baby. Two women go to Solomon saying that they're both the mother of a particular child. Solomon offers to cut the baby in half and give half to each person, and at that point one of the women relinquishes her claim. Solomon knows that woman is the mother. Okay, not totally like that, but still, the fake person just cared about ownership.

Hey, you'd think that something as important and groundbreaking as Project Helix would have information stored on separate computers in separate locations, wouldn't you? I'd be uploading some stuff to my MSN Groups space if I was Dr. Malkovich, or whatever the guy's name was.

And I wonder what will happen to the back-up copy of the information that RealJim gave to Sydney while they were on the train... perhaps it will eventually lead to the unmasking of Francie? I wonder if the unmasking of Francie = Francie leaving the show? I guess not... she could always escape and go be with Sloane & Sark.

I loved it.

I never liked Alias because of the double agent stuff. I like Alias because of the acting and writing. Since both of those elements are still a part of the show, I'm a happy camper.

J.J. Abrahms was quoted in EW saying something like "If I had to do another story where Sydney was almost found out, I was going to scream."

I agree wholeheartedly. There is only so long that can be believed, then you have to start wondering how stupid the Alliance is.

I love the show, but it was really becoming stale:

1. Syd on a mission or Syd at home
2. Syd gets new mission
3. Marshall does op-tech
4. Meet with Vaughn
5. Confrontation with Sloan, Dad or Mom
6. Mission
7. CIA countermission succeeds or fails
8. Cliffhanger

I'm all for the change. Let's shake things up a bit and move in a new direction. They've established great characters, so let's put them in new situations and see what happens.

Another good episode. I was a little skeptical about this new storyline but so far, I'm liking it.

I just have one question. If Fake Francie is the one that they did the second gene therapy thingy on, how did they get Francie's DNA? From the technique, it sounds like they would need a substantial portion of Francie's cells to recreate the sequences. Was Francie captured at some point or go to some weird doctor appointment and I missed it?

I liked this episode, but it was a letdown after last week's masterpiece. I really was looking forward to seeing what happens with Dixon and Marshall (Marshall especially), so I was dissapointed that nothing was resolved from that end.

Very good episode overall. I especially loved the creepy tension as D'Abo's character sang "Pop Goes The Weasel."

any post-Superbowl ratings momentum? Alias scores a 6.7/10 for the hour, tying for 3rd in its' time slot.

http://tv.zap2it.com/news/dailyniels...ngs.html?29973

It's been a while since Sunday nights haven't had some football (either Superbowl or playoff games) associated with it. Anyone have any idea if these ratings are up from the typical Alias numbers?

Any sort of doctor's visit would probably yield some sort of cells, especially a Pap smear. I can see Sloane & Sark's goons stealing some samples. And there are real, existing technologies that amplify DNA sequences (polymerase chain reaction)... so maybe S&S could use that or some fictional super-duper spy version of it to duplicate cells.

This reminds me... what do we call the Sloane-Sark alliance? They're not the Alliance. They're not SD-6. Slark? Sarne?

Alias has averaged a 5.2 household rating so far this season. Last night's 6.7 looks to be its highest rating since a 7.0 back in late-September.

This season, Alias has been scoring in the mid-5s (usually right around 5.5/10) and landing in 4th place in the timeslot.

A 6.7/10 and a tie for 3rd is an increase... it'll be interesting to see what the ratings are like in a couple of weeks when the dust settles.

Don't mind Syd is skimpy outfits , but it will hurt the show if it's over done.

The episodes were starting to become a bit stale (same plot/different location), so a break from the norm is good.

We'll see what happens...I'll still tune is and get my Syd fix

Yeah, it was so nice of Halle Berry to open up the door for movie companies to market a movie by making a supporting female character look like the main character. [With the requisite T&A of course...]

I was half-expecting to hear the announcer say "Elektra...opening on February 14th'.

well i heard the rumor is that if the daredevil movie does well enought they are thinking of putting jennifer into a elektra spinoff movie focusing on her character.

I like las night's episode.

I cannot stand her being at CIA though, I miss Dixon and Marshall.

Oh well FFrancie what is that all about.

This needs to come out on dvd or I need to get replay tv.

OH yeah and my wife hated the whole Fast times Scene.

I quickly commented and said it was in poor taste

haha you think she believed me.

I'm a fan of the comic book, especially Frank Miller's excellent run, but I have my doubts how well Daredevil is going to do. I do hope that it brings viewers into Alias, though.

They did a good job with this episode as far as blending it in with last episode. Obviously we're not going to get a whole bunch of the revelations we've been waiting for, since it was supposed to fit in before last ep. Which means they were going to foreshadow the Francie replacement thing, instead of just showing how it happened after the fact.

Did someone contact Will to tell him that he can stop running? And thank him for at running away without taking Francie?

The commercials will bring in the male fan, which is what they wanted after the Superbowl. No way are any new female fans tuning in, though. I can relate with you, thejammy... it's getting tough to watch Alias with the wife.

I look forward to next episode, when we'll finally see some more of the aftermath.

At least the Music Man movie has that Victor Garber/Alias tie in, right?

All the drooling and moaning about Syd in her bikini, and still no pics????

Cool episode, btw, I vowed to give this show another chance after last week and I'm glad I did.

My girlfriend was wondering the same thing...Syd told him to grab Francie and get the hell outta dodge. Either he didn't listen, or he was grabbed too. Or maybe he didn't make the "F5" cut of last weeks Alias?

And about this Helix thingamabobber...

If the person who's going to be morphed has to be induced into a coma for at least four days, how were they able to morph Anna [or whomever it is...] so soon...? [Unless they somehow got ahold of Francie's DNA?]

Does no one else think that Alias did so well because Angel is now moved to Wed nights? After all, they appeal to similar demographics. And not everyone owns a Tivo or VCR. or is even willing to use them if they do.

Don't forget; Alias is on ABC (one of the big three nets) whereas Angel is on (what is it on?)....

SECOND week in a row that Lena's name is in the credits. Is that in her contract or something?

She's a cast member, why shouldn't her name be in the credits? On other shows, when people are off the show, do they take them off the opening credits? I don't believe so. Like when Tracy Gold was off Growing Pains or such.

I have to disagree. I actually thought of this as a plot hole, among others. The real Lennox gave Sydney a copy of the code on a disc. That being the case, if he was the fake Lennox, he wouldn't care that she was destroying the lab. He would know that he could kill her and then get the disc back. Also, if he developed it, it may take him a long time, but he could probably recreate it. Since he had that information and the other Lennox didn't, it is not a logical way of determining the fake Lennox.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the show and don't mind the amount of plot holes that generate throughout, being that it is an ongoing series and accept some of the cheesiness.
