I think it should it should be Buffys last season too. Milking a cash cow like they have been done with Trek and X-files would be a bad thing. Lets hope that they dont spin the show off or continue the show way past its prime.

The episode had me fooled too. Thing is, at first I thought it was clever. But then I thought about it some more and the switch felt a bit cheap. Did Angel then dream the entire hour up? In that 1 second? I don't get it. Everything that happened in that hour was just shown to the viewers just to fool us. I didn't get the impression that Angel experienced everything we saw. And it didn't seem plausible that he would. I dunno, something just doesn't fit quite right.

Nathan Gervais 01-30-03 02:09 PM

Hi,
maybe I missed it but has the whole story behind how Angel & Darla were able to produce a child been dealt with? If not, hopefully this season will tie up that pretty big plot point. I also agree with one of the previous posts in regard to the Angel/Cordy romance. It has always felt forced to me and while the two work together well, there has never been any sexual chemistry between DB & CC. Still, I think there is a lot more going on with Cordelia than is being let on at this point.
Best

What I think is funny is we're going to have him watch him defeat the beast and save the sun all over again.

das Monkey 01-30-03 02:10 PM

Think about it even more, hahn ;) - there's a reason what you've said doesn't fit. I think there's more to the episode than simply fooling the viewer.

i better not see any stock footage in the eventual episode. that would bite.

but seriously, i think it would be really cool if the real battle was one of those dragonball z type fights where it spans episode after episode after episode.

What gets Angel off:

Yes, it's how you get Angel in a state of bliss (via a dream):

You ward off the rogue shaman.
You get Wesley to apologize to you.
You slap Connor around and beat some sense into him.
You beat the big bad.
You get your just reward with shagging Cordy (but at the last instance, you utter Buffy's name.

Boom! Angelus is back!

sjrab16 01-30-03 05:01 PM

For some reason I see them having Angelus being the "Big Bad" this season and not the big demon blocking the sun. Remember when they had Buffy and The Scooby's beat the Judge really quick in season 3, to only have to beat Spike, Dru, and Angelus the remainder of the season.

i loved it, great episode, i was fooled (i don't get the previews on the vcds i download) . Yeah connor is starting to pee me off somewhat too

Angel and Buffy have really rocked this season !

But the judge was never even close to being the big bad of the season. I believe he was introuduced in one epsiode and killed in the next. It would be more like season 6 of buffy where the "big bad" of the season is the Trio, until the last few episodes it's Evil Willow.

I don't see Angelus being the big bad. It's already been done before for one thing. Another thing is that their's no one on the show character wise who would be strong enough to fight him off and defeat him, except maybe Conner, like Buffy did and she barely survived.

I agree. I think Angelus is going to run free for a little while but something tells me its all a lot of misdirection. I don't think The Big Bad for the season has even been really hinted at.

Mantecore 01-30-03 06:53 PM

Great Episode, my second favorite one of the season, first was when the big bad first came, also i am really glad that it was all a dream cause i think the big bad guy kicks total ass, and is awesome, and so is angelous, this is going to be very interesting.

neiname 01-30-03 07:49 PM

Anyway of getting this episode off the net? I was screwing around with the tv yesterday and Tivo somehow did not record this episode and my fiance is pissed. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Draven 01-31-03 12:48 AM

Totally fooled, because I actually believe that the characters on this show would be stupid enough to behave that way.

The writers are bound and determined to see Cordy and Angel together. Except Angel should actually be alone until/unless he becomes human. And Cordy should have remained a "little sister."

Bah. Stupid writers.

I did just read on the televisionwithoutpity forums a new name for the coupling: Corngel.

I'm using that from now on. Way better than Spuffy (don't even get me started on the nonsense of THAT piece of writing.)

Lil' Penny 01-31-03 05:23 AM

I missed the whole saying "Buffy" thing. Just had to watch the end again.

Just curious but if you hold both shows in such contempt, why are you still watching?

Because this is most likely the last season of Buffy, and I want to stick with it until the end.

And because I enjoy Angel when they don't have any coupling going on, and I keep hoping the will fix the problems with the show.

When I watch it I'm like this:

Cool...Heh...Lame...Heh...SWEET!...SO LAME...Lame...Heh...Neat.

So, I enjoy a majority of the show (of both shows, actually) but anytime they start coupling Angel+Cordelia and Spike+Buffy, I zone out.

An unlikely person will help the big bad.
And no, Angel is not the Big Bad for the rest of the season.

Neat!

Spoiler:
Wonder if Cordy being a bad guy will play into the Buffy series finale as well?

Not to split hairs, but isn't telling us he's not the Big Bad sort of a spoiler?

Mark Holtz 02-01-03 01:11 AM
