C.S.I. Miami 1/27

Not a bad episode last night. Haven't been too many new episodes in recent weeks and I've realized how much I've missed Caruso's extreme overacting - and last night was no different. I've come to the realization that Caruso's overacting is an asset to this show. Even though it comes off as preposterous sometimes and I often find myself saying, "Who talks like that?", it is a reason why I continue tuning in every week.

Observation: Anyone noticing how all of the CSI: Miami episodes take place during the day (to display all of Miami's orange glory) while the original CSI takes place at night, for the most part (to display the bright lights of Vegas)?

I thought it was pretty good.

I agree on Caruso. The way he was talking to the states attorney was funny.

for Emily Prcter in that grey T-shirt.

I hope whatever their going to do as far as Horatio's dead brother doesn't turn into another Grissom and his hearing situation where the only time it's brought up is when it can effect the story, otherwise it's ignored.

CSI: Las Vegas is the Night Shift for the CSI unit for Las Vegas, that's why their cases begin in the night time.

Emily was wearing way too much eye make-up last night.

I watched it in HD, and it's amazing how much make-up Emily was wearing.

Me and my wife both think that a TNN re-run of CSI is always better than a new CSI:Miami. Same yesterday.

One of the key differences is that none of the Miami CSI's have any decent amount of character backstory. On the Las Vegas edition, each CSI has a backstory, which makes them more sympathetic than watching the robotic Miami CSIs solve cases week after week (right after Horotio tells the perp that he's gonna take him down...HARD!)

Any CSI unit would not be collecting evidence before the house was clear. They would clear it first, then collect second.

This show is getting a little silly...not only are all the characters masters of every forensic discipline, but they are also bomb experts (at least Horatio) and hazardous materials specialist.

Not to mention they
Spoiler:
solved the crime with some doohickey that records body heat signatures from car seats, including pattern matching a bandage from the killer's back based on it's thermal image

While i know vegas csi isn't terribly realistic, it isn't generally as over the top as miami.

Why can't all primetime shows be in HD???...

I can not get over how amazing the picture quality is!!

Geofferson,

The producers intentionally wanted CSIM during the day so not to be an exact clone of the original..even though it basically is

I was wondering how well the suits were sealed, as you could see horatio's wrists clearly...

Right - also it only makes sense to show off Miami during the day and Vegas at night (much more visually appealing).

A LITTLE silly. I thought the whole beer and leach thing from a couple episodes back was the funniest thing I've heard on TV.

okay has anyone here ever thought of pouring beer on leaches?
