Any Adult Fans of "The Fairly Oddparents"?
"Wands and wings!"
"Floaty crowny things!"
Though, I find about 95% of Nickelodeon cartoons obnoxious, pandering, dumbed down, and not fit for anyone of any age; there is one show they have that's just a riot--"The Fairly Oddparents".
It's premise has been done before a'la "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Weird Science"--a put-upon kid is given two fairy godparents who grant *almost* every wish with often unexpect results.
What stands out is the sharp bits of humor that with adult appeal; the wonderfully manic animation; simplistic drawing style; and it's just plain fun!
There's also the occasional cameo by Frankie Muniz and Jay Leno.

I knew the head writer on that show for about a week. He was supposed to have his own show on TNN as well, but I think that deal fell through. He's also written for Johnny Bravo, so if you occassionally recognize the same type of humor between the shows, that's why.

I have to say, as a parent of a 7 year old boy who watches Nick-Toons almost exclusively, I really really hate that cartoon, and I'm a cartoon junky. It's pandering and predictable and recycled and cliche and, basically, on par with the other half-assed animated dreck out there like you find peppered throughout the popular kid networks. Catdog comes to mind immediately.
I guess when the bar gets set at Dexter/Powerpuff, Spongebob, Ren & Stimpy, South Park, hell, even still Looney Tunes levels, you just expect more. I'm not saying that cartoons have to be mentally challenging or anything. They're cartoons after all. But, man, when you just jump from one cheap gag to the next through a wasteland of sloppy artwork [as if that is REALLY a stlye as they would tell us] without a second thought as to clever wit or an original story, it just leaves a muddled and silly and unfunny cartoon.
All, the same, I still find myself parked on the couch after dinner watching with my boy, so who am I to talk. But, yeah, pretty hokey stuff right there.

It's a great anime telling the consequences of war.
