Future of 'Boomtown' ?
during the Golden Globes, they mentioned that Kingpin was airing Sunday's at 9 PM CST, the timeslot Boomtown was in. anyone if/when/where Boomtown will continue?

As I understand it, Boomtown's taking a hiatus until March. Kingpin's is a limited series (6 parts I think). I know Bravo has a marathon scheduled for all 12 episodes that aired so far early in March, so it sounds like NBC has plans to keep the show. Contractually, they have 18 episodes, so if nothing else, expect 6 more to air starting sometime in March.

to follow up on my own thread. Back in March, as das said.

There is cause for concern. If a networks put a show on hiatus during sweeps, it means that they don't think much of it. This is exactly what ABC did to Philly last year. Philly was starting to build an audience - ABC yanked it for February and by the time they brought it back, people forgot about it, and ended up getting the axe.

This could be the case, but I think they need that 10pm slot on Sunday to show this Kingpin thing. Clearly they're trying to steal the Sunday night HBO audience, and they have to air this at 10pm to avoid pissing off the sponsors. They're certainly not going to drop Law & Order or er. Friday and Saturdays suck since they likely want a huge ratings kick for it. Tuesdays is Dateline (and currently Meet My Folks); plus it's really bad counter-programming to NYPD Blue. Mondays are reserved for wussy TV, and they're really happy with Crossing Jordan (God knows why) and probably don't want to compete with CSI: Miami (again, not the best counter-programming). That really only leaves the Sunday at 10pm timeslot. Add in the Super Bowl, the Globes, and the Grammys -- all nights when you don't want to air new episodes of anything -- and you end up with a hiatus.
It could still turn out badly for Boomtown, but I would imagine the marathon scheduled for Bravo shows some commitment to the series' future.

SUCKS..... Boomtown is the best new show of the season for me by a longshot.
RHD gone, now boomtown, and as red dog said with the demise of philly, I should stop watching new shows.

It would suck if Boomtown gets the ax, it really is a great show, the best cop drama since Homicide, well at least on network TV, the shield gets that honor on cable. But its a show that demands viewer attention. And to expect attention span from alot of the reality show drones out there is expecting too much.
