ER - January 9th
Well, it was apparently the continuation of last week when I missed the episode, but it was a very good one I found although a bit on the sad side.

"Can I bang her?"
That was a pretty good episode.
I felt bad for Weaver. I'm kind of surprised they ended her pregnancy.
Romano was in classic form.
The old guy and his wife were hilarious.

I love Pratt and I've always loved Weaver. I loved Peter Benton, too. Just because people aren't all gushy doesn't mean they don't care. There are a lot of ways to show that.
Every now and then, Weaver drops the professional shield, and the fact that it's so rare, just makes it all the more poignant. (Long time viewers will remember the time she was walking along the sidewalk and stopped and sat on the bench and just suddenly started bawling her eyes out.)
If I'm all alone on this, that's fine, but I think this show is still very, very good.

This show has always had great character development even for the minor parts. I will agree that when Weaver signed to the deaf girl that she'd just lost her baby and then the camera moves to her face and we see her bawling was one heart-wrenching moment.

This was the first ep I didn't have a problem a Pratt.
"Stop. Drop & Roll", indeed.

"I'm an electo-ejaculation technician."
"Your parents must be very proud..."

I was also pleasantly surprised by Abby's reaction to Weaver- she was quietly supportive, doing what needed to be done and not getting into the 'how's and 'why's of the issue. Nicely done- any other show would've turned it into a big "dramatic" moment of revelation and conflict.

I missed the first 20 minutes of the show, so maybe this was covered. Did they ever explain how Weaver became pregnant? Is that why she was seen taking hormones a while back?

Yes, she was in her 14th week so it wasn't a 1 episode thing. The first 20 minutes was mostly Sherry's caracter talkin to the pedophile and Pratt fighting with security because he brought a gun to the ER.

I'm glad they did that to Weaver. That beginning part with the little flirting part with her partner was just wierd. I just can't fathom Weaver wanting to have a baby with this firelady character that we barely know. Just too strange to go from not even wanting to be a lesbian one year to wanting a baby the next. I think Weaver is much more rational than that.
They should have gotten to Pratt's brother stuff way before now. I have no idea why they dragged it out. Why wouldn't Pratt explain to his boss about his special situation the first day he came in? Doesn't make sense to me.
The child molester was very very creepy. At first when he was saying that he 'got caught by his girlfriend' I thought that he was going to say he got caught masterbating and they would play it for jokes the whole episode. Definitely caught me off guard.

They didn't really drag out Pratt's brother's story, we've known Leon was shot in the head and is now not so swift, but it's the first time Carter finds out about Pratt's dedication to his "brother" Leon and explains his eradicate attendence patterns. Carter showed a lot of class by extending a hand of help to Pratt after all the BS that he had to deal with with Pratt.

As far as I could tell, this episode totally ignored the existence of the Harkins character (that female med student that ended up in the crash with Luca). They left her in a pretty ambiguous state at the end of last episode, but they didn't even acknowledge her here. Were we just supposed to assume she died in the resuscitation attempt? Sheesh...

Ok, my bad. I guess I was staring into space...but still, that's a lame way to wrap that incident up considering it was such a big focus in the previous episode

That little note was not enough. You leave a character practically dying and can't even put her in the next episode? GRR And I needed my biotch fix with Lizzy Cordet where's she hiding? Did anyone notice "Chloe" in a commercial for Boomtown, I got scared and thought they were bringing her back to ER

moments. Wylie doesn't get enough credit. His comic timing is superb. It's one of the best things in the relationship between him and Abby: it's a constant Droll-A-Thon with them.
