Man vs Beast From FOX

"Man vs. Beast," the multispecies competition airing Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 9 p.m., will feature humans and animals going head-to-head in a series of competitions. Steve Santagati ("Bachelorettes in Alaska") hosts.

In addition to the midgets vs. elephant battle -- in which the two teams will compete to see who can pull a DC-10 across a desert field fastest -- highlights of the hour include 132-lb. hot dog-eating champ Takeru Kobayashi trying to outswallow a 1,000 lb. Kodiak bear, and world-class sprinter Shawn Crawford racing against a giraffe and a zebra.

Also planned: a sumo wrestler vs. orangutan tug of war, and a chimp vs. soldier obstacle course race. Celeb commentators will be on hand to offer play-by-play, including Carl Lewis (news - web sites) and Michael Buffer ("Let's get ready to rumble!")

"Of all the things we've worked on, I think this has huge potential," said Schotz.

How about one more...

Fox execs vs. a herd of cattle, to determine who can create a bigger pile of crap?

They cancelled Titus and Family Guy for this. I never thought I'd be surprised by anything FOX does anymore but this baffles me, even coming from FOX.

The midgets vs elephant is the best. Seem like both parties had a blast.

Only Fox comes up with shows like this

My simian brethren performed well, but I expected more from the chimp. He was too busy showboating Terrell Owens style with the leg kick on the rope swing and striking a pose at the finish line. Yeah, I know you're pretty, but beat the Seal first, then strut for the cameras.

A solid 4-2 victory.

I was channel surfing the other night and saw a commercial for this.. after a commericial for 20 reality TV shows, and then I just changed it back to Cartoon Network.

It's a sad day in America in that when the all cartoon channel has more intellectual programming than the networks.
