Saw both shows, liked both shows.
As far as the comment about there not being any Graboids in the second episode - you can't have the same badie week after week. It would boring very fast. I mean they don't have vampires as the bad guys every week on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, do they.
This episode set up the possibility for a lot of weird creatures in later episodes. It also is a possible explanation on how the Graboids developed in the first place.

Well, to those who assume that I hate everything because I supposedly never post anything good about any program (and there’s a perfectly good reason/excuse for that), hold onto your a**es:

I liked it.

This is a refreshing diversion from all the character-intensive, arc-driven (read: soap operas[insert Seinfeld quote]) that are at the top of the charts.

It skirts the edge of campiness without going all Batman

Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) is a little subdued compared to the movies. But he’s still a paramilitary geek.

Burt (on the radio): What’s the sitrep on Rosalita? Over.
Rosalita: I’m here. I’m fine….Hey, what’s a sitrep?

His deadpan approach (and the way the others take him seriously) is fun.

There's much more to like, but I'll leave it for you to discover.

OK. This is not “quality programming.” Any more than anything produced by Glen Larson or Irwin Alan. But it has a lot of "sleeper" potential.

But at least you’ve got this:

asabase, looks like you’re gonna be disappointed. I agree with dp20957 on this.

BTW, both eps are being replayed Tuesday night on USA and Wednesday evening on USA2.

I recoreded the first two episodes last week and just got them today. The show is okay, but has a really crappy feeling to it.

I was looking forward to it. I turned it off. Lame.
The whole symbiotic relationship the townsfolk have with the stupid crature makes for boring television. Then when it attacks, they have some crappy blur effect that cheeses up everything.
