Jimmy Fallon (as the drummer) can't keep a straight face! rotfl Along with Will Ferrells shirt riding up on him. CLASSIC!

Question....what the hell is up with the 'cowbell' lately?

I see it mentioned everywhere & everyone has a laugh over it.Yet i don't get it.What the hell does the dam cowbell stand for? Some new sex-fetish or stands for something dirty or something?

There was even a post at one time on "My wifes cowbell collection" in the mature section & i was left scraching my head thinking everyone must have gone insane as i don't get it.

I mean..it's a freaking cowbell,how funny can that be?

Inquireing minds want to know:)

This hooker walks into a bar.
The bartender says "We don't serve people like YOU here"
to that, the hooker responds "Well, maybe my cowbell will change your mind"
The hooker pulls out a shiny new cowbell
The bartender then responds "Drinks are on the house!"
rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl

I always LOVED that joke.

Maybe it's so overused as a new catchphrase lately that it's not funny to me since i'm left thinking "ooooook":)

Am I the only one.....?

What do you mean where it "should come in."? It does come in, that is the whole joke of the skit!!!! Granted it's not as pronounced in the mix!!!Maybe you were listening to the similiar song "Burnin for you"????

Doug Heffernan 12-31-02 12:38 PM

Oh, and the cowbell doesn't stand for anything, it's just funny that the cowbell is actually in a hard rock song (almost the whole way through) and even funnier that SNL made a skit around the whole idea!

The Governor 01-02-03 12:39 PM

This has to be one of funniest skits ever. Everyone here at work has it on their PC. I laugh sometimes just thinking about it.

Yeah I watched it a couple times on New Years day and a couple times today... I can't wait till next week when it should be much more busy here.

This is off-topic, but I saw Ferrell's Harry Caray for the first time the last time they aired that Will Ferrell special. It was possibly the funniest segment I've ever seen on SNL. Does anybody know where I could find a list of the shows where he did that impersonation? I could only find the Jeff Goldblum and the 97? year in review clips on Kazaa.

Space: The Infinite Frontier

Jeff Goldblum
Joan Allen
Matthew Perry

Weekend Update many many times

And The OJ Simpson Telethon in the Tim Meadows episode.

SET YOUR VCRS TUESDAY THE 7TH AT 8 PM ET. We also see when Agulera didn't where that much makeup.

das Monkey 01-05-03 03:11 PM

FYI, BOC is performing on DirecTV's FreeView this month. Go, go, go, go ... Godzilla!

Thanks for the heads up. Thankfully I don't have work Tuesday night, so now I can capture it onto my computer.

Edited to add: Slightly off topic, but anyone know when the SNL episode with the John John Mackey skit is going to air?

When I see a storm front coming, I'm all, "What's up, bitch?!" And the storm is all, "Not, much, Sir." And I'm all, "That's right, bitch! Now, go make me a sandwich!" And you want that kind of confidence in your weatherman!

When the weather leaves the house, John-John bangs its wife.

I don't see it listed anytime before February (no schedule info past then).

I assume this is going to be on Comedy Central, correct? Also assuming we are talking about EST. It doesn't list the Cowbell episode on their schedule.

The "cowbell" episode is the one with Christopher Walken as the host and Christina Agulera as the musical guest.

JoeyOhhhh 01-07-03 06:53 PM

This sucks. Last two times I tried to catch this episode on TV, the schedule changed.

Are they trying to ban this episode or something?

ClarkKentKY 02-22-03 01:02 AM

It's on CC right now.

I got a fever...

Rypro 525 03-06-03 02:55 PM

I'll bump it since it comes on tonight at 1:30 am et. Don't miss it, get all your tivos set, and your vcrs ready, get some water and caffien (keeps you up) and get ready for "some more cowbell"

Rypro 525 03-06-03 08:38 PM

Just ran down stairs to timer record the episode, I can't wait since I haven't seen it since it originally aired on the Will Ferrell special. Also, there are lots of other funny sketches in this episode, and Aguliera does not look like a slut in this performance as well. Anyone know when the "Peter Schwetty" episode with Alec Baldwin is supposed to reair (he was on his own, no music guest.)

JoeyOhhhh 03-06-03 11:37 PM

Glad I caught this thread. Now I can record The Cowbell sketch and burn it onto a DVD.

kenny79 03-07-03 12:34 AM

I see I've been beaten to the punch on cowbell notification.
