The Dukie scene was pretty sad. It looks like that's how someone starts on the path to being what Bubbles was.

Nice callback to Clay fleecing Stringer Bell. Looks like Avon was right about that one, Stringer wasn't ready to run with them.

I think they'll end up getting Marlo and his group, but they won't come close to getting the Greek and his. They might get a brief look at them though, which gives Lester an itch to think about scratching for a while.
If he'll be allowed to scratch an itch after this.

Some really bad fast forward cuts in the clip, but the Clay Davis thing was funny.

Any predictions for what will happen from Kima's bean spillage?

Here's what I think:
Spoiler:
Daniels will want to expose the whole thing and punish Freamon and McNulty. Carcetti will learn of the situation, but because the capture of Marlo and gang has already been well-publicized, he will be forced to cover the whole thing up otherwise risk losing his bid for governor. After all, how will he get elected if he releases the biggest criminals in Baltimore back out on the street, AND punishes the heroes who caught them?

What will be interesting to see is how Levy plays into all this. He may end up ruining everyone from Carcetti all the way down to McNulty. This would be a hugely dissatisfying ending, but consistent with Simon's repeated themes of social injustice.

OK did anyone else notice how the preview changed? The preview from the "live" show was different then the one from the "Week Early" one.....They cut the preview down WAY down....They showed a lot more in the On Demand one that was put up a week early. I noticed a few scenes missing from the preview when I watched it again on Sunday. The cuts though were done for the better as they showed more spoilers then they should have.

BTW thanks to the user who posted the Dexter link I totally forgot to look forgot again.

Man, what a crazy episode. So much stuff happening in such a short period of time. There are so many different angles that can fuck up the arrest/prosecution of Marlo and his crew. We've got Herc giving the phone number, McNulty's fake serial killer, Daniels finding out about how they got the wire. Insane.

I'm wondering if Lester will use the info about Levy having a court source to stop Levy from challenging the wire tap.

That clip of Clay Davis is hilarious! I was watching Enchanted the other day, and the actor who plays Clay Davis was in a divorce proceeding. He was arguing with his wife about a Hank Aaron baseball card, and I was just waiting for him to say "shiiiiet". Too bad Enchanted is a Disney movie for the kids.

Bahhhhh this time for sure I am not cheating. Its only a few days away. Why hurt the ratings if the most underrated show on TV today. I really think some people dont watch it again after getting it "elsewhere" which is a shame. Hopefully we wont have people showering this thread with spoilers.

by far the best show on tv and as a police officer, i can tell you that it is by far the most realistic cop show that i have watched.

Wow, I agree on all points.

Extremely sad to see what happened to Dukie. Kid had potential.

David Simon was at USC doing a Q&A and answered a question that I had always wondered about since they share the same last name and they were apparently going to bring it up this season but decided not to.

Cheese is Randy's father

Well, I just got through this season (thanks, Netflix), and I realize this morning how "Herc did it again!" First time to Randy, this time to Dokie, abeit inadvertenly.

-Herc gets Marlo's cell number from Levy's rollerdeck
-An illegal wiretap is set up, busting Marlo and most of his crew
-Suspicion is led to Michael as being the rat
-Michael must pick up stakes and blow town, with Dokie and little brother in tow
-Dokie is set adrift

Nice going, Herc. Nice to see you're getting promotions. (I'm very depressed.)

Re: The Wire 6/2/02

I just got the first season on DVD and watched it for the first time. I really enjoy the pace of the show and the editing and development. All angles and perspectives are pretty much covered, allowing you to empathize with both cops and robbers. I don't get the comparison some have to Six Feet Under, but I do The Shield. To me, The Shield doesn't require as much attention and is more of a immediate thrill. What you see is what you get. With The Wire, there's more of a build up and introspection, which I prefer.
