Homer (when he sees Fat Tony & the Gang shooting the guy on the sidewalk): "Whew! Just Italians"

The "worst episode ever" line was coined by the Comic Book Guy in the "Itchy & Scratchy & Poochy Show" episode when Homer becomes the voice of a cartoon dog to boost I&S ratings. This was somewhere in the 7th or 8th season, and is a really good episode.
CBG later wore a shirt saying "worst episode ever" in the first of the truly worst episodes ever, the one where Bart and Homer adopt a race horse with an attitude and get in trouble with gnome-like jockeys.

Personally, if a show I watch is ever no longer what "it used to be" I will bail on it in a heartbeat. Life is too short to watch something just to beef about it...

I forget why, but when Duncan (The horse with the attitude) is racing, Marge is in the stands and mentions another reference to an 'old' Simpsons episode and the CBG (wearing the 'worst episode ever' t-shirt) yells "Hey! I'm watching you"

That was my favorite line, too. The sight gag with Bob's hair after Marge's excessive shock was funny.Pretty mediocre episode other than that.

We're also 'Die-Hard' fans that keep hoping the next new episode will be good. I'm not going to stop watching just because the series isn't up to par as eariler seasons.

Decent episode, the song at the end was uncomfortably bad.
"I've grown accostomed to your face."
That's not funny.

Laughed out loud several times. The George Foreman mail sorter that turned the "bad" mail (including a party invite from Patty & Selma) into a burger was hysterical. Not the best but certainly not the WORST episode (and MUCH better than the Cecil & Bob episode
)

The Simpsons could air the greatest half hour of TV ever, and within the first 5 posts someone states "Worst Episode Ever" or something similar. Its always been that way. They still come back to watch next week.
I'm a hardcore simpsons fan, and I'm really enjoying this solid season. It really feels like some classic episodes are steadily being churned out. I don't see any death of the series coming after this strong season.
In the original grimes episode: didn't Frank Grimes' Tombstone say ?:
Frank Grimes
"Grimey"

I think the original one just said "Grimes", and Lovejoy said in the eulogy, "Frank Grimes, or "Grimey" as he liked to be called..."

sure they arent as funny as a few years ago, but who cares - if it entertains you for 30 minutes, mission accomplished.
