The last couple of episodes have been really good and of course now FOX decides to cancel it. Bunch of clowns. What do they decide to keep - John Doe? Fastlane? ugh!
Hopefully the show will find another home and Whedon can find a better outlet for creativity.

OMG. These last two episodes especially have been so great. This is extremely disappointing.
I was struggling with the show for the first few shows, but just when it finds its legs, Fox kills it. At least sell it to UPN or something
Damn them.

Hi,
sucks pretty much sums it up. First Farscape and now this. Watching Enterprise the other night and catching Star Trek Episode 10: The Wrath of the Clone today made me realize what an original, witty and engaging show Firefly really is. I hope Joss can find a home that welcomes the Serenity for the fine ship she is.

Don't get me wrong. I am sorry that you guys lost your show.
But am I the only one that thinks that now Joss will be able to get back to Buffy and Angel. These shows have needed more of his attention lately.
When I first heard he was going to do a third series I had strong doubts that he could pull it off. Three shows on three networks...
I commend his efforts.

I really don't think this will lead to more focus on Buffy and Angel. He got those shows off the ground, but I'm sure he wants to try new things out and he seemed really excited about this show.
I am extremely disappointed to hear this news, and sometimes I wish I had the money to buy my own network and give a big middle finger to networks who cancel shows I like. Unfortunately, that will never happen so I have to deal with network execs that make me wonder why idiots with seemingly no idea how to make a show with such potential popular keep getting making ridiculous amounts of money. Sometimes I think it is just dumb luck that we get to see any decent show for any amount of time.

That stinks... I never even got to see it and it's cancelled already! I'll buy the "complete series" DVD box set this summer and see what I missed.
Bring back Doctor Who!!

These shows are very costly $$$ to produce more so than your average sitcom or drama so they need big ratings quickly or they won't last long..

I think Buffy and Angel are enjoying a resurgence this year, and I doubt this is because Whedon's attention was taxed with 3 shows.

The whole thing is sad. I think this is the only new show I'm still seriously watching.
Oh well. Hopefully he'll get it on another network next year.

Hi,
looks like UPN is indeed the target. Pulled from TimMinear.net.

Firefly: Immediate Assistance Needs Your Help!
As you may have heard, FOX will not be ordering new episodes of "Firefly." But we're not giving up that easily!
Joss & Co. are hoping to persuade UPN to buy the show -- and we want to help. Visit http://sgcwebdesign.com/fireflysuppo...tcardSheet.pdf to download a sheet of postcards that feature the Variety Ad. Print the document out on cardstock, cut them into fours and mail them to:
Les Moonves
CBS
7800 Beverly Blvd.
3rd floor
Los Angeles, CA 90036
Dawn Tarnofsky-Ostroff
President, Entertainment (CEO)
United Paramount Network
11800 Wilshire Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90025
On the back, let them know how much you enjoyed the show while it was on FOX, and how eager you are for it to find a home with UPN. Keep things upbeat and positive, so they'll know what classy fans Joss and his crew will be bringing to the network! Some ideas for things to mention: your favorite episode, why the show moves you, why you think the show has potential, etc.
Our two catchwords now are: VOLUME and SPEED. We need a lot of postcards on their desks really damn fast.
Thanks in advance!

Angel and Birds of Prey are on the WB, not UPN.
UPN is not going to cancel Enterprise. It's one of the few shows they have that have any viewers (even though it it's not very good.)
Tuesday at 9 is already pretty cramped.
Maybe they should air Enterprise at 9pm and Firefly at 8pm on Wednesday. I read that they are trying to sex up Enterprise more so maybe that would sense to put it in a less family-friendly timeslot.
