Enterprise 11-27

I finally got UPN this week on satellite. So this was my first opportunity to watch Enterprise. All i can say is that i was very disappointed. The storyline had numerous holes and then my intelligience was insulted by the convenient dream sequence. I flet as though it were a waste of an hour.
I found no paticular characters endearing. The captain seems like he has a little goof in him. Nothing stood out to me.
I actually like Voyager better than this. Voyager's storylines read like "War and Peace" whereas Enterprise's storyline read like "The Cat in the Hat" when the two are compared to one another.
Very disappointing. I'll Tivo it for a few weeks more and hope the stories get better.
BTW, whatever pinhead decided to have that Yanni, Michael Bolton, collaboration for a theme song should be vaporized.

I'm also catching the 3AM taping of Voyager, which is much easier to watch after an episode of Enterprise. I would normally FF when the opening credits start, but for some reason I reflexively hit the mute button instead.
Maybe I’m missing something by always muting that “song.” An essential part of the experience? Like an enema during a bout with diarrhea…
vaporware, I feel certain I'll regret saying this, but you've seen the worst it can get. It's all uphill from here.

I was over at Trekweb reading reviews and these stood out:
Since people have been complaining that one reviewer on this site, here are some more perspectives from other reviewers...
Still negative
Trek5.com
"But currently, more harm than good is being done by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga and their controlling wish to write nearly half of Enterprise's stories. With every step forward John Shiban, Chris Black, Phyllis Strong and Michael Sussman take, Berman and Braga kneecap the series by rehashing plots from "high-concept" movies. The exec producing duo trotted out a foul bird in "Vanishing Point" which was 50% Ghost and 49% The Sixth Sense. 1% of TNG's The Inner Light was thrown in at the end to try and curb the foul smell.

"I've made no secret of my feelings regarding this episode. The only reason I'm not giving this "Inner Light"-"Frame of Mind"-"Remember Me"-"Realm of Fear" meatloaf an F is because I think Linda Park is exceptional and deserved to have her own episode. At long last. Not that they gave her much to work with, given that her two expressions were "fear" and "concern." Lecture time -- for those of you who don't want to hear an opinion other than one that lauds this episode as the harbinger of all that is good and holy, please avert your eyes. When I was in college -- no, it started even earlier than that -- when I was a freshman in high school, my revered creative writing teacher told us never to use the whole "it was a dream" device if we wanted to avoid descending into The Trite Depths Of Hackneyed Mediocrity. Maybe Bermaga should've gone to Southwest High and had Ms. Sexton bludgeon some originality into them."

They seem like they're talented enough, but no one can escape the words "Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga."

I was having a chat with my betrothed the other night about this subject. We reached the conclusion that, besides B&B, people were also completely done with the Damn_Feddies. We envisioned a new direction for the franchise, starting with a new series told from the POV of a Klingon crew. Something with very little Federation contact, in which the warrior race with the big reputation actually DOESN'T get outwitted at every turn. Of course, that would result in a loss of a substantial core audience, but since Klingons are just cooler than Feddies in PJs, a large contingent of more mainstream viewers might be attracted to a show with "space vikings". Of course, for anything to work we would have to first peel the living flesh from B&B and dissolve them in a huge vat of some unknown corrosive liquid, then have a talented professional writer develop a cogent script bible, then have a tough as nails producer actually enforce it.

Didn't watch. Don't care.
So why did I bother to post in this thread? Because I've been a Trekkie for 30 years and B&B are ruining it. I love Trek. Hell I even like the 5th and 9th movies - even if they aren't favorites, they're still Trek. Enterprise isn't Trek.
It makes me want to cry.
At least I have Nemesis to look forward to.
