This was a rather "tame" episode, with not so many twists and turns but still breaking some of the rules of standard tv shows which becomes almost a trademark for 24.
Thus being said, Paula wakes up briefly and manages to give the
encryption code, only to die minutes afterwards... Nina Meyers did not escape as some suggested. She sold all the information relevant to the bombing, before being caught the previous year and I think Wald actually mentioned that last time. She is brought in for interogation and asks a full presidential pardon in exchange for ther cooperation. Palmer gives the pardon and informs Jack personally about this. Jack is obviously not at all happy about the decision and decides that he has to be the one handling the case to make the most out of Nina's information.
He finds out Mason is contaminated and forces him to allow Jack control over the Nina operation.
Jack also makes the mistake of telling Kim about the nuclear threat in order to make her leave LA. Kim understands the gravity of the situation and the need for not disseminating the information. Therefore she only tells her boyfriend (some music studio dude that looks familiar but I don't remember if he showed up before) which almost panicks but decides to help Kim rescue the lil' kid from the hospital - I don't wanna remember the lame discussion between Kim and the girl's father again...
What else... Ah. Resa's connections to Sayed Ali reach CTU and Tony Almeda goes at the wedding house to interrogate the dude. A bit of tension goes there, Tony finds Sayed's name on Resa's laptop files, but the interogation continues without success so far. Of course the bride-to-be finds out about her sister's investigation and politely asks her to leave the house and not dare show up at the wedding.
Finally, on the presidential front, Palmer gets a senator to sort of replace the fired guy and has a meeting with the ambassador and intelligence top person of the suspected terrorist country that he threatened in the first episode. They request a full information exchange in order to facilitate the cooperation between their countries intelligence services. Against the advice of the senator and of his assistant, Palmer gives some information. As they leave the presidential hq the ambassador helicopter crashes into the ground and the two are expected dead.
Things to think about:
- Is the bride's father involved with Resa? possibly Resa is just a pawn.
- Are the ambassador and the other guy really dead, or all was a setup to gain the information from US and then not do the same in exchange?
- How much does Nina actually know? She was in prison for a year.

Having... difficulty... staying... awake....
Ten.... minutes... to go.
REALLY disappointed with 24 season two. It had a slow start, but given my enjoyment of last year's first half I gave it the benefit of the doubt. From the writing to the acting to the production (split screens as purposeless motif has become self parodying) this season is uninspired and lackluster. Even Kiefer Sutherland seems on auto-pilot not varying from his dull dull dull one note tough guy grimace. Bleh.
Oh, yeah... and it's groundbreaking.

I'm not disappointed in S2, I'm quite entertained actually, but do agree they've gotten way more talkative, hopefully there will be a big ol' pay off in the second half. (Though I do believe the acting is better this season.)
That being said, Kim Hot, Kim must die. She is so goddamn annoying.
Oh and whatever happened to the action and suspense aspect of the show, there's been like - none of that this season.

It seemed like Kim was a little cold at the hospital
There was no "Holy Sh*t" moment in this weeks episode. I just wish that they would totally forget about Kim. Her storyline is a waste of time. I know that eventually that it will get all connected, but it is so frustrating to have her story take valuable screen time away from the rest of the action.
I think that Roger is behind the helicopter crash.
It was great to see Jack look away immediately when Nina was looking at the camera in the interrogation room. It was subtle, but it was my favorite shot of the whole show.

I quite liked it.
I also wouldn't mind if they got rid of the Kim storyline...its just not very interesting.
Maybe after she starts blabbing about the nuclear bomb it might get interesting (that's just a guess, but a city in panic would make for interesting tv). Tho since she is implausibly connected with the terrorists, they can't do that.
Plus i don't dig dark black eye-brows with blonde hair. Yeah, im shallow ;P

Flat ep.
Kim boring. Boyfriend just as bright.
Wedding planner dumb.
Need more Jack.
Too bad they haven't invented a interactive "choose your own adventure" type technology yet...

I think that somehow Kim telling her boyfriend or whoever he is will somehow start an avalanche effect, ending up with the press finding out and hystery ensuing.

Even Kim with no bra is now officially boring. If she doesn't go full frontal, I refuse to watch her again.
Let's give producer boy one bit of credit: when Kim told him, he immediately said "Okay. Let's get out of here." (Like any sane person.) Instead, he listens to The Girl With A Headfull Of Redi-Whip and goes after some heavily guarded brat.
I think this chopper crash might be the equivalent of last year's exposure of the Serbian connection, (i.e., the catalyst to something deeper and more involving.) If it is, it can't get here quick enough.
Even if it isn't, the return of Hacksaw Jack Bauer in the interrogation room w/ YelNina will be fun to see. (Call me sick, but she still looks sexy as hell to me. Prison fatigues and no makeup? BIG DEAL!

I was mentally screaming at the TV "No, don't, no, Jack!" when he was on the phone with Kim, and Jack spilled the beans. Everyone knows that Kim is following the "oh, stupid me becomes yet entangled in another stupid subplot where I fail to follow dad's instructions, and decide that I need to also save a little girl that I just recently met" script. Plus calling her boyfriend and getting him involved in her stupid subplot just makes me want to start fast-forwarding through her scenes (I time-shift 24 on tape).
The stakes are upped with Nina's re-introduction. Jack is on a mission with 2 different levels now. One is to find and disarm the mythical bomb (we don't really know if it's real or not), and the other is to make sure Nina doesn't get away with it.
I'm not sure how I like Palmer just caving in and capitulating to all these demands (the pardon, and the intell).
I found it funny how Stanton (Rayburn's replacement) shows up just after that actor was summarily exited from Buffy in the 8 p.m. timeslot.
Marie and Kate's dad is definitely dirty. Notice how he interrupted Marie's rant before the agent guarding the door just in the nick of time (for the dad).
So the other country has our intell on them, but we get nothing in return. That other country must have all our intell transmitted before that copter went down.

BTW, I hope people realize that Sarah Clarke and Xander Berkeley (Nina and Mason) were married this year after meeting each other while filming the 1st season of 24.

Excellent episode. Some of the acting and certain sequences make me laugh, but that's what I love about it. I think it was critical since Kim (well Jack really) has let out the sensitive information. The "ripple" seed has been planted...

Yep, Kim didn't bother me so much in the previous episodes, but after she told her boyfriend of the nuclear threat I officially despise her now.
I think the "holy sh*t" moment came for me at the end when the chopper went down with the ambassador in it.

All in all, I thought it was a good episode - even without a Holy **** moment.
