Sci Fi Channel Airs Braveheart Sunday

Are these guys morons or what ?

Snowmaker 11-22-02 03:22 PM

Yeah!! What does Braveheart have to do with Sci-Fi??

Rogue588 11-22-02 03:22 PM

Well, Godfather is a "Movies That Rock"...-rolleyes-

Sci-Fi sucks. After Farscape ends, i'm deleting that channel. [Not that i've been back since the season "finale" a couple months ago.]

adamblast 11-22-02 03:24 PM

His face is blue, like an alien. That makes it Sci-Fi.

Derrich 11-22-02 03:33 PM

This is a joke right? I haven't checked the schedule yet so I can only assume you are attempting to be humorous. A network devoted to SciFi and named SciFi would never air a historical drama about the fuedal wars of Scotland.

D

Dave Scarpa 11-22-02 03:34 PM

Sunday 7 pm. No Joke, which is sad in itself.

Simpson Purist 11-22-02 03:35 PM

I guess Sci-Fi thinks that since LOTR came out that anything involving swords is considered sci-fi/fantasy.

das Monkey 11-22-02 04:16 PM

And the hits just keep on coming ...

The level of suck that these ****wads have achived is really staggering.

I'm laughing, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a meeting at scifi headquarters and Bonnie Hammer decided that blue faces DO equal scifi. -rolleyes-

Sci-Fi channel is run by a bunch of untrained evil monkeys on crack.

Seriously.

mikehunt 11-22-02 11:15 PM

better than those direct to video craptastic horror flicks
but still not sci-fi

there's plenty of semi popular, bound to be cheap, sci-fi movies they could get
"Enemy Mine" and "Last Starfighter" come to mind

SuperJim88 11-22-02 11:36 PM

Maybe they do think Braveheart is science fiction.....

UAIOE 11-23-02 02:09 AM

Maybe they will add a pre-credits sequence where you find out that Mel Gibsons character is really:

a) an alien
b) a time traveller from the future
c) a time travelling alien from the future
d) a immortal just like the guys from "Highlander"
e) Gazoo from the Flinstones stops by to share some haggis.

Jeremy517 11-23-02 02:37 AM

Maybe they thought he said "Freon" instead of "Freedom". Simple mistake to make.

JohnPhoenix 11-23-02 08:23 AM

the events of Braveheart could be from a slightly alternate reality -- bam now its Sci Fi. :)

mthiel 11-23-02 06:20 PM

When I saw in USAToday that SciFi was going to air Braveheart, I thought it was a typo. I guess not.
I'm assuming that SciFi can show Braveheart because USA has played it (and still owns the rights to play it).

Aaron Amos 11-23-02 09:27 PM

When did Braveheart become a sci-fi movie?

das Monkey 11-23-02 09:36 PM

Don't let the "Sci-Fi" in "Sci-Fi Channel" confuse you. They have no interest in the genre.

Rogue588 11-24-02 06:07 PM

See? And you guys were wondering why Braveheart was on Sci-Fi! They're showing the rarely seen "magic and superstition" version. Duh. :p

SuperJim88 11-24-02 06:11 PM

So does that mean, this Sci-Fi version of Braveheart will have men in pants instead of skirts?

Eric F 11-24-02 06:17 PM

A world where magic and superstiton were real!
How lame can you get. This is supposed to be a historical epic based [albeit loosely] on fact. The world they are talking about is the "real world" someplace where the Sci-Fi execs obviously don't occupy. They can pretty much say this about anything they air.

This probably explains why "Crossing Over" was on Sci-Fi. Lol.

mookiemeister 11-24-02 06:51 PM

What will Sci Fi air next after Braveheart? Anyone care a guess? :hscratch:

Amadeus 11-24-02 07:32 PM
