Survivor, NOV-21-02

(Spoiler Safe Post, Really)
Just to start out tonight's thread, my paper's TV Guide offered the following insightful "clue" to tonights episode:
"Another castaway gets voted off."

I'm sure at 9PM, we'll be back wondering how in the heck they foresaw that.

The winner of the reward challenge was:

Clay, and he picked Brian to go with him to feast Thai-style. Ted was a bit pissed about that, but he had to hold his tongue.

The winner of the immunity challenge was:

Helen, the recipe queen, in a game of answer the question right and get a chance to snuff out each person's flames - 3 flames/person.

The 10th person booted out was

Penny the pleaser. Damn, Penny is one cold playa.

What was interesting was how the vote went down:

Jake: Penny, Clay
Jan: Jake
Penny: Ted, Brian, Helen, Jan

This tells me that Clay is out on his own.

I like the fact that Jake was loyal to Penny till the end. Too bad we cant say the same about Penny.

Jake still has a sense of tribal loyalty so he didn't want to vote for Penny. On the other hand, Penny has no compunction about voting for Jake even though Jake protected her the longest in the tribe.

I'm guessing Jake voted for Jan because he knew Jan won't be voted by another other people, so can afford the single vote from him.

I'm thinking Jake voted for Jan to stir the pot a little . Jan is the only person I see actually flying under the radar . Everyone sees her as the goofy , sentimental old lady but in all actuality I think she is playing the game the best of all . And if I have to see her from the backside one more time in her bathing suit i'm gonna puke .

One thing I don't like about this season is how similar this is to last season in that someone is totally flying under the radar. I was not happy when V won the last one. Jan has been walking around like an invisible contestant and could easily make it to the end. Urgh.

Since when is flying under the radar an unacceptable strategy? Seems to work pretty good until there are very few people left.

I would certainly hope that the 2 women realize that their only chance to win this thing is to side with Jake and force a 3-3 vote at the next Tribal Council.

--Like I posted last week, those 3 votes against Ted will come back to haunt him.

--I thought that the immunity challenge was one of the most creative they've ever done. Too bad there was little tension at the end. Like Helen was going to get kicked off last night...

--Who has NO votes against them yet? I think that's Helen, Brian and Clay. Does that sound right?

--The women need to wise up and vote out Brian. Sure he hasn't won any immunity yet, but the fewer people he'll be up against the more likely it is he will.

--I would HATE it if Jan would win. V winning last year was really anticlimactic. Same thing would happen if Jan wins. Has she even been close in any immunity/reward challenge? These players should be figuring out the longer she's on the island, the more likely the jury will vote for her. I don't think the jury factor has been taken into account yet.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If they vote Jake out next, then Helen and Jan will be the next two in the pecking order. Brian, Clay, and Ted seem to have a tight final-3 alliance.

I don't think previous votes count against you in case of tie-breakers anymore. They usually just settle it by asking more questions or performing some task againt the clock.

Never said it was unacceptable. Seems a pretty good way for a "weak" person to get to the end. But of all the people left Jan is not who I want to see win. And last season V winning just sucked.

But who knows what Clay has up his sleeve. He seems like that he is playing everyone and one would think that his best bet would be to get to the final three with Helen and Jan instead of Ted and Brian. I think he stands a way better chance of winning the final immunity challenge against the ladies than against the boys.

I also thought the rewards challenge was pretty creative as well as pretty harsh. Poor Jake looked so lost out there with no one to team up with and then you hear Jeff barking out to Jake that he was out of the competition

Saw Penny today on the Early Show and all I have to say she was looking so hot (loved the toe ring she was wearing), way hotter than Erin when she appeared. I was rooting and hoping for Penny to stay for I have grown to like her these past few weeks, so it sucks that they voted out the last remaining cutie patootie.

No kidding, now we're stuck with "2 Feet Under" and "Recipe Queen" for the reminder of the season.

Yeah but did her jugs arrive on the Early Show set a minute before the rest of her body?

I think Jake voted for Jan because she is the weakest. He was using the old tribe thing they don't pull their weight they get the vote.
BTW JAN needs to seriously enter AA. Talk about a drinking problem. She was like have my soup and I will have your beer.
If Clay is in final 3 I will be devestated he is such a little Punk!

I think Jan & Helen & Jake will get to Ted, alert him to the fact that the reason he did in fact get those votes was because of Ted and Clay's plan. (He will buy it this time, because now he sees that those 2 are very close, plus he has been with Jan and them for a long time)

Also, they should point out the fact, there is def a clear difference in his friend with them, then their friendship with one another (Clay & Brian much closer etc)

Get rid of Brian first, since he appears to be the better athlete, although clay is very good at the challenges thus far.

Then it's fair game. That's what I would do, and expect them to think it up as well.

Just a side note....Brian Won the Reward...And he picked Clay...Not the other way around.

Clay did get a vote. Jan voted for him, influenced by Ghandia.

The looks Jake was giving Erin and Ken were heartbreaking. Yep, here goes our tribe one by one. I think Jan and Helen are not very smart and will go to Jake and make him believe they will vote for Brian so that he gets three votes but will end up voting him out with 5 votes total.

Then they change the tribe's name to Sook Gone.

Still though, not even in the league with *all-star* survivors like Colleen and Elizabeth. This was the worst cast ever and certainly the one where the best looking women were few and far between and really didn't last very long.

I'm a fan of the show, but is there really anyone left who you REALLY want to win? I think Brian is ok and it's a riot that Cinemax has been playing some of his terrific films lately, but I really can't say that I'd be thrilled if anyone of the people left wins. And if Rosie is the host of the finale I won't watch anyway.

If they don't get a better group together for the next Survivor in February and Friends actually ends this season, I will cross Thursday off as another day that I don't have to watch any TV.

Or make a non PC Survivor with all 16 hot women between the ages of 18 and 24 and put it on HBO so I can see the nudity and hear the cursing. And put it on Sunday with Sex and the City, the Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm, so I can get all my tv in on one day.
