Wow! Now that was the Boston Public of old! Some Drama involving good ol' Mr. Senate, Some Comedy involving Harvey (I love his poke at Danny and Marla) and one hell of a hot new teacher, I hope she is here to stay...well, at least for a while.

I thought Senate was gonna go out with a bang. Oh well.Still a great episode. Not too much comedy, not too much sadness, perfect. One of the best episodes i have seen and certainly betters than the last couple of episodes.Next week's episode look's great.I wonder when or if Senate's coming back.By the way the new teacher look's like a real hottie.

One teacher gets let go, and another comes through the door.
Sorry to see Harry Senate go, but he was totally not right in the head to be teaching high schoolers. I don't think we'll ever see him again on the show.
The new teacher, Kimberly Woods, has some potential for creatively stirring up the pot in the school. She is replacing Lauren for the interim (whatever that means) with the history classes. The new teacher, Kimberly, with the wicked sense of revenge is Megan Monaghan.
Poor Ronnie, stuck in the dungeon, cleaning up Harry's mess.
I liked how they were able to integrate the violin for Harry's exit. That was a classy touch.

I did like this ep. I liked everything except the new girl. Enough with the new teachers. How bout developing the ones that you have? Marilyn? Danny? The doublemint twins they just hired? Hell, even Harvey.
When it first premiered I remember reading that Boston Public was going to be about the teachers and not the students. This season they seemed to have forgotten that.
At least until this episode.

Nice to see Guber be the good guy again. Somebody had to do it, I guess Marla, Danny, and those two young guys were busy, and Harvey's just for the comedy.
Kinda of sad that Senate went out with a whimper. On the bright side, we'll probably see Nicky Katt in future film roles or something. He didn't just leave for no reason.
I agree with the idea of the revolving cast has to stop. If you think about it, there is a whole friggin' faculty that never gets any screen time. Considering a high school may have 30-50 teachers, you think you could introduce pre-existing teachers? They don't all have to be fresh out of college and ready to educate.
The new teacher was likeable, though. Glad to see that she quickly shed that "clumsy oaf" image I had of her when she was first introduced.
btw...I LOVED the preview. It's fun seeing Harper getting pissed.

I also forgot to mention this...
The whole farewell to the "Stupid" class was emotionally hollow. Though I realize this was due to the lack of screen time for Harry this season.

Was Guber paying the violin kid out of his own pocket? Because for a school that had a shortage of money, which caused a riot, which caused an even greater shortage of money, that's a pretty sweet deal for the kid.

Probably would have been a better episode if the season (and really much of last season) weren't so emotionally hollow. Maybe if he had given the speech to last year's "stupids" it would have worked.
Normally I don't care about this kind of stuff, but sometimes it bothers me that this show is on at 8pm.

• Quoth Kube •
I missed the first 20 minutes of the show. What was the set up for that painful looking examination?

When Teacher #742 (no more names ... just numbers) showed up for Day 1, one kid acted like he had a bad infection in the nethers, so she excused him to the bathroom. One by one, half the class pulled the same stunt. On Day 2, she returned with "research" about some new crotch rot they were testing for at school and would be sending all these kids to the testing ASAP to avoid the spread of the "infection."

Immediately after Kimberly shows up, most of the male students start faking a bladder infection that makes them have to go pee a lot. That's what made Kimberly squirm with the "mandatory" Bacterial Septis infection tests, which involved the scraping of the base of their plumbing through the urethra.

Is it just my immaturity talking, or was there alot of refrences to 'wood' this episode? The music teacher (forgot her name) asked the boy about the peice of 'wood' in his hands, and the new teacher is called Mrs. WOODS....Conspiracy...? Or am I just immature?

I thought that this episode was pretty good. I like the new teacher. And what is in Florida for Harry? I really think that in future episodes it will come out that it is where Lauren now is.
