Hunter - Return to Justice

2 hours of my life ... gone.

Nothing like a network TV reunion movie to overuse explosions, made even worse by the "preview" clips that told the viewer exactly what would happen in the next segment. Typical NBC nonsense.

Dunno where Kramer bought her new face, but it looked pretty good, I guess.

Ha!

I only wasted 5 minutes. Enough time to see him shoot a guy off a motorcycle then shoot another baddie.

SuperJim88 11-16-02 11:48 PM

If you knew what's going to happen from the preview, why did you watch it?

das Monkey 11-17-02 12:27 AM

If you knew you were going to crap in this thread, why did you open it?

das

SuperJim88 11-17-02 12:45 AM

psst... I didn't open this thread..... rotfl

das Monkey 11-17-02 12:49 AM

I'm guessing you're confusing the word "open" with "create" but I'm really not sure.

So, does this mean the Beijing government-supported "Hunter In China" movie will no longer happen? What a crying shame.

mikehunt 11-17-02 10:02 AM

son of a bi...
I forgot to tape it
all week I when I saw commercials I was like "have to tape that since you work"
totally forgot. I loved Hunter when it was on and wanted to see the movie even if it sucked

Wizdar 11-17-02 02:32 PM

Yeah. Confusion. That seems to be going on this week. It’s amazing how the same words can have so many different meanings.

das, with all your multitasking, surely you don’t expect us to believe it was a total waste of 2 hours. I mean, I can’t see you devoting your full attention to a show like this. ;)

You’ve mentioned one reason I generally don’t watch movies on the big three nets. “Let’s show a key action scene from the next segment just before going to commercial.” Even before I became aware of the spoiler sensitivities of many folks (mostly from TVTalk), I thought it was a crummy idea. [“Crummy” is not the word I had in mind.] And I seem to remember a promo calling him a “top cop.” I had no idea that lieutenant was as high as you could go. -rolleyes-

Dryer is looking way long in the tooth for doing something like this.

I used to like the series. I feel like such a sucker.

At least I found out, from the promos, that I’m not missing a thing on Fear Factor.

Gotta run. They’re doing the motorcycle chase, and it looks like Fred just ate a bug. :)

das Monkey 11-17-02 02:56 PM

Nah, not a total waste ... I was watching 3 football games on the other tuners.

I like how they turned him into a legend among the obligatory reunion movie "new class."

You're working with Hunter?
Yeah ... I can't believe it myself.
The real Hunter?
Yeah.
You sure? The legend! What's he like?
Legendary.
Wow ... LOOK OUT! That motorcycle is going to explode!!!
Another one?

das

Wizdar 11-17-02 03:33 PM

Another one?
rotfl rotfl

I was watching 3 football games on the other tuners.
I hate you! :grunt: Gorram Monkey and his ruttin' multi-tuner setup.

I swear, I'm kicking this cable addiction by Christmas. Really!

das Monkey 11-17-02 04:55 PM

I assume you want me to spare you the "AT&T is Evil"TM* speech, eh? :)

das

* Speech comes in "I Told You So" and "You'll Thank Me Later" versions.

Wizdar 11-17-02 08:47 PM

"Thank you Sir. May I have another?"

;)

Steve Phillips 11-18-02 05:54 PM

Wasn't that the second reunion movie? A third is already underway. I've never even seen the original series.

BJacks 11-18-02 10:03 PM

I want a Hunter/Spenser team-up movie. Maybe toss in a cameo by Simon and Simon. Come on, who's with me?

Well, I'm with you, but I don't think Robert Urich is, what with him being dead and all.

Yeah, Steve Phillips, that was Hunter telefilm #2. The first was pretty lame too. The show was pretty good, though. If you like the 80s crime drama formula, it was one of the best. It still airs on TBS in the afternoons.

das

mikehunt 11-19-02 10:43 AM

they could have Avery Brooke's character from Spencer

Rogue588 11-26-02 11:09 PM

Hey das? GOOD news!! ;)

NBC ORDERS MORE HUNTER
Hollywood Reporter

Due to the success of the HUNTER reunion movie earlier this month, NBC has ordered eight episodes of a new series that will star original HUNTER actors Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer. The original series ran from 1984-1991.

das Monkey 11-26-02 11:46 PM

Wow. WOW?!?!

I really did like the original show, but these telefilms have been completely lame. If they get good writers, I'd certainly watch, but the way NBC has handled their shows recently, I have serious doubts.

Thanks for the head's up.

das

Wizdar 11-27-02 08:42 AM

-ohbfrank-

I liked the series, too. But, as I mentioned before, Fred's age is showing.

8 episodes? What an odd number. Maybe a summer replacement?

There is no chance of "good writing." Come to think of it, I don't think the original show would have been accused of this, either. ;)

das Monkey 11-27-02 09:05 AM

Spoiler:
What an even number

das

Wizdar 11-28-02 10:56 AM

Spoiler:
What an odd -ptth- thing to say.
