Perhaps Lucas can view Episode III as 240 five minute shorts then...

Ep III is going to be 20 hours long? Whoa. :)

Rogue588 11-07-03 11:15 PM

d'oh!

I meant 24, of course :p

or I was testing you...

yeah, that's it..

MrX 11-07-03 11:18 PM

It was interesting.

I think they did a good job with the animation, especially Anakin and Obi-Wan

i thought the skin on Palpatine's face looks like it's about to fall off. They drew him weird I thought.

I dunno, I thought he looked very evil. I saw it today myself and I didnt think I would like it very much but I wanted more. I think at the most these could have been 15 minute shorts like Aqua Teen or Sealab 2021.

milo bloom 11-08-03 01:56 PM

I just watched it off cartoonnetwork.com, very nice, but waaay too short. Let's hope GL is impressed enough by these to greenlight even more episodes, and with a long running time.

Jackskeleton 11-08-03 02:06 PM

Way to short and I'm not a big fan of the Sam Jack art style being used here so eh.

Deftones 11-08-03 06:07 PM

why not just do a regular length series? The material is there, and it was good to watch, but 5 minutes is stupid.

Jackskeleton 11-08-03 07:10 PM

yeah. by the time you get into it, it's already over

Astro 11-08-03 08:14 PM

I enjoyed it, but like everyone, I wish it was longer. 5 minutes doesn't give them much room to work with.

GuessWho 11-08-03 08:19 PM

Again, to set the record straight....

10 episodes now
10 in February-ish

20 total

Thank you, Grand Moff Tarkin

I don't think there's really any need to guess, Lucas has taken the plunge into DVD, he'd be a fool not to release them. The only question is when.

cruzness 11-09-03 11:12 AM

I'd assume it would coincide with episode III but that is way too far off in the future. (may 2005?). unlees they release it closer to 2004 ( when the OT may supposedly appear)

Yes, but will they be the ORIGINAL versions? Or Special Editions...?

;)

Lara Means 11-09-03 06:11 PM

The Clone War cartoons are only 3 minutes long. NOT 5 minutes. I watched the first episode and felt it was incredibly stupid. I asked myself... what the hell can you show thats interesting in only 3 minutes? I got my answer. Not a goddamn thing.

milo bloom 11-09-03 08:31 PM

I thought it was very interesting. And like what Tuan Jim said in the very first post, at least we don't have to put up with unneccesary bad dialogue. I think they will definitely have a different impact when collected on DVD and played all together.

TheBang 11-09-03 08:41 PM

If you don't like watching them 5 minutes at a time, just wait until Friday, Nov. 21. Cartoon Network will be showing all 10 episodes in 2 half-hour segments. Episodes 1-5 in the first half-hour, and episodes 6-10 in the second half-hour.

Jackskeleton 11-09-03 10:19 PM

But that means I have to actually wait to see it! :p I'd rather download them and watch them whenever I please. ;)

RayChuang 11-09-03 11:28 PM

I prefer that way, too.

I think I'll tape it when they show it that way. Lot easier to archive that way. :)

tor_greg 11-09-03 11:30 PM

If you watch them online, there's optional commentary tracks.

Rogue588 11-09-03 11:44 PM

"Commentary tracks"...?

Why do I get the feeling that'd be like listening to an episode of Conan's smash series "60"...? ;)

Mondo Kane 11-10-03 01:24 AM

Did anybody else think that Palpatine was Mr. Burns there for a moment?

I'm sure that this will work out much better once all the episodes are wrapped up and put into 1 complete package.

Indeed, I thought it was actually him. But it's some guy named James Arnold Taylor
