Simpsons -- 11/10

Weird, still no Simpsons thread.

Anyhoo I liked it quite a bit. Nearly on par with the Baseball episode for a good ensemble VA cast. Lots of fun.

Didn't catch who Lenny Kravitz said was stuffing his crotch though -- who was that guy who ran out?

Kenny Loggins. I think it's a jab at how Kenny Loggins went from popular musician in the '70s and '80s, to writing several books on being in love, yoga and sensitivity and a bunch of "girly" things like that

I really didn't like it much. Not the best episode, and the fact that there was a simpsons repeat before it where fox could have easily placed futurama ticks me off.

The season premiere of Futurama was on just before that first Simpsons episode.

I for one thought I would never see another episode with celebrity guests used in an actually funny way. When I first heard all those rock stars would be in it I thought it would be probably as crappy as when they used Britney Spears or N'Sync.

But it was actually funny. Loaded with great one-liners. And the Satan car at the end had me

"I think it's Brian Seltzer."

I liked the repeat "pot" episode better than the new one. Even though I've seen the "pot" episode, but I still had more laugh than the new one.

Marge: "Honey, you don't have to smoke mary-jay to find Burns funny. Imagine Burns naked."

Homer: "Aww, Aww.....!!"

Monkey Trauma Center -- that was pretty funny.

It was a pretty good episode - there were worse episode.

Why did they have Brian Setzer on? He kind of paled in comparison to the other guest stars, I think he was in a band in the 80s, had an orchestra and one hit in the late 90s, and a Christmas song once. Is he as good as the other guest stars?

As good? Yes. As popular? No.

He was on the show because he's considered one of the greatest guitar players alive.

You must be on the west coast.. you were lucky, east coast got no futurama because football went over.. who would have ever thought that a football game would not end at 7:00

If fox has that buffer zone of a free 30 minutes at 7:30, I see no reason why they should risk futurama on a 7 time slot on game days when they know games will pretty much always go over.

Gee, could it possibly be that Football and The Simpsons generate a LOT more viewers. Crazy TV stations, trying to make money.

I got Futurama and I am in Ohio. There was no 4pm game on Fox in my area. Although, for the 1st 5 mins of Futurama, I had no picture. Sound only. Not sure if that was DTV related or our local channel.

Yeah, Futurama was on here in NH (on the Boston station) as well.

I already told you in the other thread -- Futurama showed at 7:00 as scheduled (at least on Fox 50 in NC). Get over it.

I thought this episode was great. Just shows the Simpsons is still as original and fresh as ever. Will this show EVER die???

I thought it was an above-average episode. I lol several times.

Elvis Costello, when Homer knocked his glasses off: "Ah, my image!"

Homer, to Lisa: "Oh honey, marriage is like a coffin, and each child is like a nail. But as coffin's go..."

Mick Jagger strut school:
Strut, strut, strut...School marm....everybody's naughty and....freeze finish!

And the Keith Richard obstacle course. You have to be in top physical condition!

I thought it WAS on par with the old baseball episode, though I haven't seen that one in a while. Definitely better than most episodes of the last few seasons. There have been a few that were just plain bad, but you know they are going to come up with a gem like this eventually, so you gotta keep watching!

Mick Jagger to Lenny Kravitz: Don't you have a crotch to stuff?
This is one of the better episodes I've seen in a long time.

not a great episode by any means. It was funny at parts, and boring at others.
